Didn’t the locals on the west side complain they didn’t want hoards of crowds because of a stadium? Just imagine the amount of people and type of crowd you’re now going to get on a daily basis haha I hate politics.

when those same locals are part of the "horde of crowds" then it's ok. casinos are just something they like. soccer stadium is not.

Nothing like opening up 4-5 casinos in the city to make sure none of them succeed.
I have very serious doubts on this one. When developers floated Saratoga as the location for a gaming table casino, the residents had a fit and blocked it. And we already have a casino resort and two racetracks.

It ended up going to Schenectady, on the site of the old American Locomotive plant hard by the river, next to Erie Boulevard -- literally, on the other side of the tracks from the heart of the residential area.

But hey, if Related wants to change their vision of the Willets Point project and make it more, shall we say, sports-oriented, I'm cool with that. *cough cough*

Please God let it happen. Madison Square Garden is such a crap arena as it is.

really ? i know its old ( and its been renovated), but i still prefer it over barclays. barclays is new but just feels all cramped in especially in the upper levels you can barely move around. MSG feels little more spaced out.

I haven't been to Barclays yet. MSG is just huge, and the large portion of its seats are way back from the basketball court, even on the lower levels. That's probably from its dual use for hoops & hockey, but it's still annoying when there for basketball.
