USMNT Talk

I'm afraid Klinsmann could go with a crazy old, and crazy defensive lineup like:

------Howard--------
Fabian---Cameron-besler--DMB (?!))
--------Beckerman-Jones-----
---------------Bradley---------
------------------Dempsey-------
-----------jozy------wondo-----------------

And hope Clint can make magic on the counter. I hate this lineup, but it really looks like this is somewhat like what he will trot out based on his roster.

Best lineup I can make out of this is:

--------------Guzan---------------
Yedlin---Cameron--Ream----Johnson---
-------------Williams------------
---------Bradley---Bedoya--------------
--------------Dempsey--------
---------Jozy-----------Zardes-----------

Yuck! Look at our midfielders on the roster, yuck. Look at the forward options. All our eggs in the crappy Jozy basket. This roster is very restricted the more you look at it. Most of the options are in the back line, midfield and forward are set, unless Graham Zusi or Wondo are realistic choices.

I've been a firm Klinsmann supporter, but he is getting stuck on "his guys" like past coaches have. I just don't think Bradley is good enough to build the ENTIRE team around. Jozy is bad and getting worse. Dempsey old, and jermaine jones?? are you kidding?

I agree with a lot of what you stated. Jurgen is someone I've trusted for many years (and still do) but the player selections have been a little obtuse recently.

Using Jurgen's roster, I'd like to see...

Howard in goal. Beckerman as a defensive center mid and Bradley as the attacking center mid.

Would love to see some sort of Jozy-Dempsey-Zardes love triangle as well.

Wondo off the bench with 10-15 minutes left for a little Wondo magic. I would not utilize Orozco or Alvarado all game.

I agree with most of that lineup. However, if you know Klinsi, he puts Yedlin on the outside of the diamond, then Bradley at the back. DW is now a sub, and you have brad evans/beasley or who knows whom he trusts these days playing RB.

That's why I left the defense out.... Anyone's guess is as good as mine.

P.S. Authentic Mix has finally arrived. Will have the AO patch sewn on Mix in time for trip down to Orlando!

Johnson - Cameron - Alvarado - Ream

I think if we go 4-2-3-1 you see the same group but with Bradley at CDM and jozy or clint at CF. We could also see Beasley at RB and Fabian Johnson at LB but I think that Ream has played well enough.

Seeing as we have no NYCFC action this weekend, can we open the shoutbox for the national team game on Saturday? It's always more fun when you have fellow trolls to talk to in real time.

As a matter of course, we tend to have the shoutbox up for USMNT games anyway.

Wait until you get to be my age son.......

Mix added to the roster for Costa Rica on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Bill Hamid (D.C. United), midfielders, Mix Diskerud (New York City FC), Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC) and forward Andrew Wooten (Sandhausen), will join the squad upon the team’s arrival Sunday.

Following Saturday’s CONCACAF Cup match, Klinsmann released a total of eight players from camp: goalkeeper Nick Rimando, defenders DaMarcus Beasley and Matt Besler, midfielders Kyle Beckerman, Michael Bradley and Graham Zusi and forwards Clint Dempsey and Chris Wondolowski.

I don't know why of all these people he would keep Jozy.
