You think there’s that much of a markup from what they charge us already that it wouldn’t make sense at that point for us to say keep your damn 400 section seats in the nosebleeds and re-buy 200 level tickets with everyone else?

Also, last I checked Citi Field also has a 500 section :tonguewink:
You think there will be that much demand? I have doubts about that, though of course we're both guessing.

I feel since it were to hypothetically be in NYC, they'd invite or sell to a ton of famous people or higher ups. "Who would've thought we'd be having a soccer final in NYC before 2020" type idea to get people to go. If they have the space for it, they'd want to fill out the Stadium, I'd feel.

I don't think they'd want all the famous and rich people sitting in the nosebleeds. Plus, look at how "well" the FO is treating us now with season ticket renewals. Who's to say they wouldn't shuffle us up to the top of the stadium to make space for more money.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see them try and drain as much as they can out of our pockets. You're probably closer to being correct in assuming they'd only be pushing us up a section, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they stored us in a meat locker outside the stadium. Sell seats on the roof of the stadium while they're at it.

General question for those more informed. Do we have more midweek matches than other clubs? I assume so because of our stadium situation.

So NYCFC either has to get a first round bye or pray that the Yankees implode in the playoffs.

And then (and less viable) hope the Mets don’t make the playoffs and go on a miracle run as well or Hartford it is.

Also, midweek games? Really?

How many games are left in MLB and why can't they make it? I'm a noob who doesn't understand their postseason
This is heavily oversimplified, but the Cubs currently sit in the last playoff position. Mets are 5 games back, and there are also 3 teams above them but also behind the Cubs. The magic number for the Cubs to beat the Mets is 20: any 20 Cub wins or Met losses. Both the Cubs and Mets have 24 games left. And if the Mets do finish ahead of the Cubs, they have to hope that none of the 3 teams currently in between do also. The Playoff Status site gives the Mets a 6% chance as of yesterday, which doesn't include last night's epic meltdown.

Aha, so the last playoff positions are not based on conference, then?

Last two spots are based on conference/league, not division. The three division winners within their respective league/conference (American / National) are granted a spot, and then the next two best teams in the entire league/conference play each other in a one-game "Wild Card" playoff to determine the 4th spot.

There are no conferences. 2 Leagues and 3 divisions each. Each division winner is in. Last 2 playoff spots are open league wide

Ah, I see. That's cool, something MLS could think about implementing, as it makes better quality of the final teams making it in!

Also, 'League' and 'Conference' are different words for the same thing lol

Harry and Sally are both people's names, but if you call Harry "Sally," you're wrong.

You're right in that baseball could call its leagues "conferences" and nothing would change. But they don't.
