17 acres in Orangeburg, Rockland County. Wrong side of the Hudson, but the right state. Not sure how they plan to get all the city dwelling players up there for practice, but it will be good to have a permanent home.

UPDATE: Town has approved the deal, but the purchase is not yet final.

This has to indicate a Bronx stadium. Just a short trip down the Palisades and over the GW.

Getting to anywhere in Brooklyn or Queens from this location is a 2-bridge crossing. That would be nuts.

Look at the mess the Islanders have with a no-crossing trip between the arena and where they live.

I wonder what pushed them into Rockland instead of Westchester. Understandably, it's probably much cheaper, but for convenience's sake, anywhere in Westchester seems like a no-brainer compared to anywhere in Rockland.

We've got to be setting up shop in the Bronx. Any other locations would be much more inconvenient from here.

I don't see the connection between the location of the training site to the stadium. Can someone explain it to me in terms of the sporting logic?
No, because there is no connection, and so there's no possible explanation using sporting nor any other style of logic.

There, now that's settled.

A training center with corporate offices in Rockland and a stadium in Brooklyn or Queens would be a huge hassle for all of the players and staff. Not the kind of thing you should do by design

It would be nonsensical.

Ain't nuthin' wrong with a little nonsense now and then.

But remember that the Jets practice in Hofstra, near Albany, and perhaps a few other places. Or at least they have in the past. Pretty sure the Giants also have at least some sessions upstate as well. I think one of them might've practiced in New Paltz for a while also. None of those places are close to the Meadowlands.

It's not like 25+ acre lots, properly zoned, in towns without opposition, are scattered around the metro area, waiting to be bought by the team and it can pick what is most convenient for its primary stadium. The real stadium might end up in the Bronx, but I doubt that's why the training complex is where it is. That's just the best available place they could find.

Those are only during the pre season. Jets regular season training facility is in Florham Park which is 20 minutes from the Meadowlands and the Giants facilities are right at MetLife

Corporate offices in midtown Manhattan. Training center in Rockland. Stadium somewhere in the city. I don't see a problem. The three aren't connected.

Can't see the local residents having a problem either (as indicated in article) its only a training ground. Several are situated close to residential areas (including villages in some cases) and really can't see why there would be an issue. Especially if there are plans for any additional community facilities as part of the development.

Since its outside the city I'm guessing this will be entirely funded by the club? Unlike the stadium funding the club has sought which DeBlasio refused to embrace in comparison to Bloomberg.
