Here's a American soccer business question. If SUM is a subsisdiary of MLS that sells both the television rights to US Soccer and MLS, why is the kit/ball maker of MLS different than US Soccer?

The new one is ok I guess. It looks like a 1970s polyester baseball jersey
I was going to say beer league softball, which is m, you know, a 1970s polyester baseball shirt.

It doesn't look similar, but somehow it gives me flashbacks to the old Astros shirts.

It really is just ugly relative to the prior one. But whatever.

Balls & kits aren't media rights would be my guess. If they wanted to package it, they could. But negotiating together in the instance of balls and kits would probably not have the same upward pressure on prices that it does in media.

Why would they be the same? Different organizations sign different contracts. Every league and every national org has their own official ball for competitions.

Club and country are different markets and Nike wanted one while Adidas wanted the other, and each was willing to pay what was needed to sucker the rights. The sum of the parts is greater than the sum of the whole as a package deal.

Nailed it. Astros in Bad News Bears

You can also see the model of the training center in the left corner of the picture with the jerseys. I also notice the sky blue kit has white shorts, which we opted to stop wearing which I disagree with.
Ending the white shorts was a practical decision. We don't want the opponent to have visible evidence of our defense soiling themselves.

Looks like the club still have the 2016 jerseys in the front office. But, WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!?!?
