Worth clarifying the official rules now that we know them.
- Each team may protect 11 players.
- Homegrown players and Generation Adidas players who have not graduated from that program are automatically protected and do not count against the 11.
- Clubs must protect at least 3 of their international players.
The rules are basically the same as what
derek_villa posted at the top of the thread, except that I think he was mistaken in how the international players are treated. The rules say the most international players that a team can make available equals that team's total number of international players minus three. That's a more confusing way of saying each team needs to protect at least 3 international players.
