I've been hearing this for a while, that Silva would come here after he leaves Man City, like since Kreis was the coach.
The painful part of this rumor, if it's even legit, is that you are setting up a Maxi OR David Silva decision. Why not shed Medina and have both?
I know Medina is younger, but at this point the last two years of David Silva's career have to look more valuable than the next 10 of Medina's, including whatever sell on fee we might garner.
totally agree. at this point, it's in the club's best interest to drop medina (much like LAFC dropped horta) and find a new DP even if it isn't a big name. we need a productive DP as DP slots are just too valuable to rot away on the bench. Would love for the DP slot to go to someone like David Silva as I think the combination of him and Maxi in the midfield would be AMAZING. I just wonder what the deal is with Parks. Will he stay? will he go? no one knows. Would suck if he signs to stay and then we sign Silva or Mertens and then he gets relegated to the bench... i'd be pissed if i were him.

In Dome's interview with Grant Wahl and Sports Illustrated, when asked about the stadium he references Manhattan. Maybe he's just being a typical tourist and assuming all of New York is Manhattan. But a stadium in Manhattan: That's either Pier 40, Columbia, or Central Park.

Not sure spending $5M on Parks is sound business, maybe but not sure, since that’d almost assuredly make him a DP, unless the contract is for about 5 years to prorate the transfer, and his salary is $500k/yr, and we burn a ton of TAM every year on him. He’s got huge upside, like monumental upside, but would he want to come here on a transfer and not a second year loan??? Would think his heart is really in Europe and this was simply a seasoning stint to stay off the bench while his club makes room.
Silva and KDB play entirely different games. Silva and Maxi are like for like players. KDB relies on power and pace. He puts in a defensive shift and can put in a tackle.
Both Maxi and Silva are “soft” players.
Not to mention that City have a $130 million #6, $110 million worth of CBs on the bench currently and a goalkeeper who is probably the 3rd best in the world.
