They change the pricing of Pitchside seats for every 8 or so seats down the line.Disney Resorts and Cruises have a fair amount in common with sports STH memberships. A guy on a big Disney forum repeatedly writes that "Disney is in the business of selling happiness. That's not the same as 'Disney wants me, personally, to be happy.'" It often is in response to someone claiming that this year's price increase was the backbreaker.
Not that I ever thought otherwise, but this week is pretty clarifying that NYCFC does not care if any particular STH is happy.
That's more than the 18% LionNYC said. I know there are different Pitchside levels but I thought you were the same?
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.First in ticket price increases, last in transfer fees spent.
I’m at a loss as I think I miscalculated and it’s actually a 31 percent increase. I have no idea why or how that’s ok.Disney Resorts and Cruises have a fair amount in common with sports STH memberships. My goodness.I’m at a loss as I think I miscalculated and it’s actually a 31 percent increase. I have no idea why or how that’s ok.
I see. I thought it was just A and B. Thx.They change the pricing of Pitchside seats for every 8 or so seats down the line.
Is that "bridge" language potentially referring to a possible mini-season between the end of the 2026 season and the start of a fall regular season for 2027?My 27% increase is confirmed.
Looks like one offset is that the first playoff home game will be included in the membership, and they're throwing in the first 2025 playoff game as well as a freebie if you renew. Of course they need to finish 8th place or higher. They're currently 10th.
Interesting that the email includes all the reasons to maintain your priority for the stadium in 2027, together with instructions for opting out should that be your choice, but does not discuss downgrading as an option. Also, this:
Should the Club play additional regular season bridge matches beyond the 17 included in your plan prior to the opening of Etihad Park, you will automatically receive your tickets to those matches. Pricing for additional bridge games will be discounted and pro-rated at the average City Member rate of your invoiced plan above.
I think that means if the club plays a few games in Yankee/Citi to start 2027, those will be included as part of the 2026 membership, but at an extra automatic fee. That's really odd. I get that the YS/Citi seat levels won't translate to Etihad, and some people will make significant seat type switches. So there's logic at charging 2027 bridge games at 2026 rates, but it I would think those games should still be part of the 2027 membership. What if you don't want to renew for 2027? As special as that year should be, people will move away, lose jobs, die, or just decide the even bigger price increase is not worth it. But they'll have to pay for those "bridge" games?
This only really matters for seat priority for non-premium sections, right?Rumors are semi-true. If you ask for your founding member # ...
I asked for mine and while I didn't get an exact number I was told I was top 100.
Premium appointments as well. This only really matters for seat priority for non-premium sections, right?
It could, but my logic is if the new stadium is open we can play those games at Etihad. Would they really rent YS/City for another 3-5 months just so the stadium opener is a regular season game? Maybe I guess but doesn't seem worth it to me. So I revert to assuming the bridge games are only if the stadium isn't ready. Is that "bridge" language potentially referring to a possible mini-season between the end of the 2026 season and the start of a fall regular season for 2027?
Top 100 get bigger bricks. /sThis only really matters for seat priority for non-premium sections, right?
Yeah, but I don’t imagine a lot of founding members are pounding at the door to drop 20K+ for a single premium seat.Premium appointments as well.
I’m also really curious if a cost has changed for them. Like they had a 10 year deal for stadium rentals at a set price with YS and CF. And now they had to renegotiate for the next two years and YS and CF decided to squeeze them. I’m not sure the club has only bad intentions with its fans, but it also has given zero/very few indications that it has good intentions.I’m really curious if it has something to do with getting everyone on a similar pay scale. My ticket went up only 9% but this is my first season as a ticket holder. Maybe I was charged more to begin with so now they are trying to equalize those who’ve been here a while with a new price structure they are implementing/implemented
Taking another look at the price increase, it is oddly complex because of the free possible playoff tickets.
If the team makes the playoffs this year and next, and if I would have bought those tickets both years, and if I assume playoff tickets price at more premium levels than average regular season match ...
I could make the case that my tickets only went up by 3%.
Of course, that 3% increase actually looks considerable larger the following season when none of these free tickets are included. But it is more complicated than a straight 17% increase.
