Hello,
Just wanted to know how is the atmosphere down there in Bridgeview? Also, are Chicago Fire supporters rowdy or douchebags like Orlando City's to the visitor's fans, etc?
It will be my first time in Chi-City and of course NYCFC happens to play that Friday there. Already heard is a pain to get to from The Loop. So please let me know. Any feedback is appreacited.

Chicago is a great town. I haven't been to the stadium, but I've been to comiskey as a yankee fan, and the people out there are great all around. If I heard you had even a small problem with their fans I would be shocked. Demeanors in chicago compared to Florida couldn't be more different.

I don't know much about the Fire fans, but to echo what Tom said, Chicago is a fantastic place to visit. Beautiful architecture, amazing food and easy to get around. Eat an Italian Beef. Do not question it. Just eat it.
 
A couple years ago, Chicago Fire vs. DC United at Toyota Park was the first MLS game I had been to, went with family and had a lot of fun.

It was the last game of the season, a sell out crowd, and we were sitting in the section directly next to their supporters section (Section 8, named after the old section number from when they played at Soldier Field) and we were really impressed with their singing/chanting for 90+ minutes ("full power") with the assistance of a capo.

And what @Tom in Fairfield CT said about Chicago demeanor. As another observer put it: "The much vaunted Midwestern friendliness is, in my experience, more evident not among people you know, but among those you don’t."
 
I've heard there's some kind of bar to the match service that allows you to pregame at select bars in the city and then hop on a shuttle to the stadium. I don't know any more than that, but it's worth looking into.
 
Or maybe I'm thinking it too much.
I'm going to the game with the wife and I'm not a loudmouth or anything when it comes to an away game but since I'm going to be wearing the "gloriosa" NYC jersey I don't want to be a target, you know?
Like my wife says "You are over thinking it way too much"

Like I said I would be SHOCKED if you had a problem. More like you'd be welcomed on the bus. Only cities I would be wary of wearing NYC blues would be Boston, Philly, Orlando and Harrison.

I just got an email from one of the reps that runs the Pub To Pitch program:

"You will be fine. It is a smart ask. You are not a New England Revs fan so there shouldn’t be any concern. It is safe, only thing to worry about on the bus is a hard time about the Lampard situation. I believe you will really enjoy the bus program.

So I will definitely buy those bus tix to the game and I will not mind any Frank Lampard jokes. If anybody is seeing this post and will attend the game I will be purchasing Bus tix from Fado Irish Pub to Toyota Park.
