I don't usually play a lot of Board Games but when ever I hang out with some friends we end up playing Avalon and Betrayal of the House on the Hill. Both are really unique games that are very different games of deception that are really fun. I love Avalon but it's hard to get 5 people together to play the game. Anyone else play these?
Settlers of Catan (with or without the expansion pack) and Ticket to Ride are two board games I've been playing a decent amount with friends recently. Highly recommend Settlers for anyone who hasn't played/heard of it.

I've been meaning to try Settlers as I have heard/read in many places that it is the ultimate strategy board game.
There is one I absolutely love but you'll have to go on ebay to find it - Rail Baron. Essentially you travel around the country on railroads, slowly buying different lines and amassing your railroad empire. Very fun game, and leads to a bit of thoughtfulness about the construction of the first major transit system in this country.
Love the games that require strategy and actual intelligence. Settlers of Catan is the classic strategy game. Also recommend Pandemic for co-op play. Alien Frontiers is a fun alternative to Settlers.
