I've heard there is some backlash. Could this be more ridiculous. The clubs pay to put together floats honoring the women's team, and they get crap for it. It's not like it's easy to make a float and get players downtown the Friday before a game. Nobody thinks this is really about the clubs. It's about the women's team - there is no parade without them, and the clubs aren't going up on the stage at City Hall. Plus, it's not much of a parade with one float.

Bad look for both MLS teams getting involved with this. Just leave it alone, it's their day. Don't see how it's a positive thing for either club, reactions are either going to be negative or neutral. Absolutely no reason for either team to be involved.
I tried watching the stream and lasted about 10 minutes before I got tired of them yapping and interviewing random nobodies instead of actually showing the parade. I think some USWNT team members went by while I was watching. Not sure.

This is what surprised me more than anything. After the ratings the finals pulled, it shouldn't have been hard to find two 500k sponsors and 10 100k sponsors

I disagree. I think ignoring it and not showing up would have been disrespectful. Putting together something tasteful that congratulates the women's team is the right thing to do - despite what all the idiots on Twitter happen to think (and Twitter hardly reflects reality).
