In fairness to Lion, that paragraph took way too long to get to "but I think we've got as good a shot at this league as anybody."
Also I’m pretty sure Lion writes posts that are intentionally Onion-style parodies of himself.
Have you watched this team the last two years? It’s MO is to dominate the other team and blow chance after chance while the other team gets far fewer shots, chances, but yet converts.
If this team ever learned how to finish...
I don't think we need to blow off this season just yet. One more ATL win - NYC loss, and then I'll be fine giving it up... but right now, we're only half way through and we all saw what happened to Dallas last season.

Exactly. Are we writing off Supporters' Shield? Maybe -- though we're going to improve our road record and Atlanta's is bound to dip. But how could we possibly say we're writing off playoffs? We've played Atlanta twice. We dominated them at home and hung with them on the road. Do that in the playoffs and I take my chances. I'm willing to go up against any other team in the East. The Red Bulls are the only team we don't seem to match up well against. Other than them, I think we can beat anyone. Who's to say we won't get it done over a 2-leg series?
Apparently Katai is on a loan contract with Chicago and last night was the last game of the deal. Under the loan terms, Chicago has an option to sign him which they have not yet had to act upon either way. He also has a history of changing clubs annually, and a reputation of disappearing for long stretches, and playing great when it's time for a new contract.
So, lucky us, I guess.

So katai better send Ben Sweat a fruit basket then. Actually, Katai probably made more $$ last night then Sweat makes in a year.
Don’t take this as a defense of Sweat, but I think Katai can do that to lots of defenders.

Anyone else want to talk about the general lack of subs on Saturday? And when they were made, they were fairly late?
I was at the game on Saturday and it was f'in HOT. Lewis needed to come on earlier and the second should have been around the 75' or so, with the third actually being made.
Now, I know we didn't have a ton of other offensive options available off the bench, but fresh legs with SAS could have helped.
And I guess after typing out this post, I'm realizing it sucks missing both Mata/Wallace and having Villa injured.

Also, after Katai's second goal, the ball bounced out of the net and he then launched it right into the away supporter's section. I really didn't think that was cool.

SAS for Medina at 80- SAS played wing in college and could have been a second aerial threat in the box next to Berget
Speaking of SAS, im trying to imagine him sitting on the bench when Sweat is getting downright abused and the coach doesn’t put him in. Wasn’t SAS SKC’s defender of the year a few seasons ago and now he can’t get a sniff when the starting LB is getting corkscrewed around? Sigh.
