Hartford Nasl

I work very close and will certainly attend! Can't hate on a pro soccer team, hopefully they do things right!

is there really a market ? i mean i dont know much of area but i always assumed half the people would cheer or go for NY teams and other half for boston teams.

Yes CT is largely split between NY and Boston fans but despite what Cosmos fans might want to believe NASL is minor league so it's possibly a bit different. I'd expect the attendance goal would be 5 to 10 K not trying to compete at MLS levels. I'd probably go check them out I don't see it as conflict of interest to supporting NYCFC since save for a remote possibility of a US Open cup tie they would not be in competition.

They used to have an old Naslt team with a stupid name...bicentenials or something. Anyway its markets like these that Nasl will be forced into since Mls will never expand to connecticut. Seems like a safe bet and I wish them the best of luck.

The stadium site is in a good location off of I-91 which gives them great access from Springfield, MA to New Britain. If they have a good solid organization and the stadium renovation is done properly, the market is definately large enough to thrive by NASL standards. It would also be a decent location for our USL-Pro club, as it would kind of invade NER territory.

I am not sure about that. Depends on what kind of relationship deal we have with Wilmington.

As you can see, I'm not from CT, but can I have an opinion?

LOL of course man, what is it?

It's funny because I consider Foxboro a massive pain in the ass to get to from my part of Connecticut and Harrison isn't much better. Bronx has been a pretty easy so I'm coming to NYCFC pretty regularly and this would also be easy for me so I'd go from zero convenient live soccer options to two in a very short time.

BUMP:

Saw a piece on the Connecticut news tonight they intend to start play in 2017. Remaking or replacing Dillion Stadium with a capacity of 15 K all using private money. Weirdest thing it they also want to have an indoor team and to have soccer running all year long.
