Next match is at home against Orlando.
Another speedy and dangerous forward to contend with in Larin. Unsure if Kaka's return but Orlando as a whole have been average. Aside from more luck and red cards to opposing teams in both of their games if I recall correctly.

Friday night kickoff at 7pm
Broadcast is on Unimas

RJ Allen, Brandt and Harrison all listed out for this game. Lampard Questionable.

Team projected lineup.
Taylor Villa Shelton
--Lopez--------Mix--
---------Pirlo---------
Matta----------White
--JasonH--Brillant--

Allen Chapman is the ref.

What is everyone's opinion on Larin? He's obviously very good, but a different type of opponent than giovinco. Needs service, as opposed to creating on his own?

Was just working on my preview video which will talk about this later this week. I agree though - also a very good player, but a very different challenge.

Larin is more of a striker more than Giovinco who a Trequista (False 9/No 10)

Larin needs the service (final ball) while Giovinco can make plays but needs the ball a lot to be effective, Toronto build the team around him that's why he really good as he gets the ball alot

Key to this game could be Mikey Lopez marking Larin in the space

Got some injury updates for you guys:

Mena is fit, said it's up to Vieira to pick him now.

Lampard seemed ok after the game, obviously not an indication on his fitness but it didn't appear he even dressed for the game.

Allen said he hopes to be back by next week.

Poku is not hurt, I asked him when we'll see him play and he just smiled, shrugged and said "I don't know"

Brandt is set to start running again this week, so he's a long way out from playing for us. Summer if all goes well.

Iraola seemed better, no idea as to his status going forward though.

Viera must keep yesterday's formation just take out shelton and put in mendoza.

We should look into trading poku and/or mullins for some defensive help. Hernandez is garbage and Briliant is still adjusting.

We are stacked there. Almost all of our offseason moves were to cover gaps. White is a CB and Mena is coming back. That's plenty of coverage there.
I don't see him taking Shelton out yet I think he gives him another run out and sees how he responds.

I want to see RJ get back out on the pitch. He is an asset to this team. Can't wait to see Mena and Brillant out there together if we play four in the back. I am curious to see if who would be in there (Mena or Brillant) if it was three in the back line. I think we should be able to pick up three points from this match.

I think Shelton deserves another start based solely on his defensive work rate against Toronto. I would almost like to see him at RB.

I understand why some people mention trading Poku, though I wholeheartedly disagree....

But trade Mullins??? What depth do we currently have at CF to trade Mullins? The guy will get minutes throughout the year. Additionally, who would trade for him? Mullins is fantastic, but I'm not quite sure he would regularly start on a whole ton of teams.

Always something to think about...

Orlando's last game was on Friday giving them 6 days to train/rest/etc.

Ought to be a bit cooler than Sunday. Sounds like a long-sleeve t-shirt, sweatshirt and jacket and gloves kinda night.

Shelton is a solid player for us. Yes, he is sometimes a little aggressive running at people, and his touch can be heavy - but he is still just a kid. His judgment and touch will get better, and the best way for that to happen is for him to play.

Larin is the real deal. To think he could have been one of us if Kreis didn't screw up.

Larin is big, strong, and for his size has good speed. Most importantly is his shooting touch. Case in point look at the goal he scored last week in slow mo. On the Orlando site, they have him in a close up angle, in slow mo, and look at how he turns over his foot to put a great chip touch on Rimando. He is a great finisher.

I think we all need to relax on making such rash judgments on a game by game basis. How are we ever supposed to have continuity if we want to replace players after a bad game, or bad half, or bad 10 minutes. You need to stick with players as a coach to give them confidence, letting them know that making mistakes is part of the game. The worst is when players play scared.
