So, Veiera apparently hinted that we might play a 3-3-4 against the Lions on Friday night. Any thoughts on how that might look?

I came up with this, although I admit I have a low confidence level here.

We discussed this a little in the formation thread - but I think any 3-3-4 formation would play more like a 3-3-3-1, as our wingers track back a lot. I also think the 3-3-4 is a suitable option once Lampard is back, with a deep lying midfield of Lampard-Bravo-Pirlo behind an attacking four of Mendoza-Mix-[Shelton/Taylor] and Villa holding the line.

If Saunders starts, is Vieira not confident with Johansen? Too supportive of Saunders because of his appeal inside the locker room and in the supporter section? What will it take for everyone that's not Saunders Obsessed to see the light of Eirik "Lurch" Johansen!?!?

With 4 days rest, I could see TMac or Mix not starting (more likely TMac since Mix has been involved in nearly every scoring play we've benefited from) and Lampard slotted in to their position. I'm a big proponent of position/job security/continuity, but Vieira will rotate the team to keep everybody fresh.
I get that, and could see that, but my response was to:
I understand but i think it will be very clear soon that mena and mendoza must start. When lampard is healthy he must be a starter as well. That right there means sit hernandez, Shelton and taylor.
If we were to stick with a 3-4-3 or a 4-3-3, Lampard would be playing the wing? Or is Mattarita LW and Bravo playing on the backline and Lamps moving into midfield and Mix covering for Pirlo?

Actually their contribution is even. Both with goal and assist in game 1. Yes, Mix had assist in game 2. But TMac drew the PK, which in my opinion should count as an assist. So they are pretty darn even so far. I'd argue a few more dangerous moments in general from Mix and a lot more interplay between TMac and Villa. So take your pick.

Is there no way the 3-3-4 will be used to give #whitepoku or #pokupokupoku a chance?

Vieira went with the WM (3-4-3 or 3-2-2-3) vs. Toronto. I think he'll go further back in the history books and pull out the original 2-3-5. The Pyramid hath returned.
