Invasion Of Red Cows Arena

As a Metros fan who is on the fence about what to do next year this seems like a terrible idea. There are lots of us who hate the Red Bull name and haven't felt the same about the team since the name change. We don't go to games in NJ because we love being a New York team in Jersey we go there because when we started following the league it was the only team in the metropolitan area (hence why metros was actually a good name). A large group of NYCFC fans antagonizing me at RBA will knock me right off the fence, and not in the way you are hoping.

There are lots of former and current Metros fans who feel the way I do and hate the Red Bull name and what comes with it but have qualms about turning their backs on people they've sang with for almost 20 years. They are ripe for the picking. This is not the way to convince them. Maybe that's not your goal and if so, go for it--it will get you attention--but it won 't get you any new supporters.

I wouldnt like to see this supporter base be built at the detriment of the RBNY base. My hope is for this league to be top quality one day and in order to that we need all franchises to be thriving with avid supporters. I would hope that this new team engages a new set of fans and opens the door to the sport and league to those that are not already invested rather than shifting support from one team or another. I would never tell someone they are not welcome, not my place, but overall we need to get new fans and with that being said so does RBNY, need to grow this thing organically.
