Lewis sounds so damn skeptical in the actual interview, like, I guess I have to work on my defense . . . . But glad he’s getting, slowly, with the program.

"That’s what I think it is – that’s what the coaches have said." Well then yeah that's what it is, dummy.
But nah, I thought his attitude here sounded positive, just maybe still a little confused about how to better execute his defensive responsibilities. Berhalter's not much of a high pressing guy but he's a good communicator, so I'm hoping this month will be good for the kid.
“off the record” sure don’t mean what it used to
For those less in tune with the Euro world, what does this reference imply?
He’s gonna kill it when moving to a team that plays him regularly. For those less in tune with the Euro world, what does this reference imply?
Also perhaps the lack of composure and tactical nous that Sterling exhibited earlier in his career. The progress Sterling has made under Pep probably doesn't even deserve the term "progress". More of a quantum leap. He’s gonna kill it when moving to a team that plays him regularly.
And/or that he has the same speed/technical skill set/style that warrants comparison to Sterling.
I thought the American Sterling was the Dollar...
Can you imagine if compared to the Susan B Anthony?I thought the American Sterling was the Dollar...
Sorry.
Sure, but that’d be a cold comment to make after returning from the MNT where he received widespread applaud. Also perhaps the lack of composure and tactical nous that Sterling exhibited earlier in his career. I think CJ's interpretation is probably more accurate given the context, and not totally unprofessional from Dome. It's basically him saying "you got it kid, but you gotta get it together" and is what a coach should be saying to a kid who doesn't appear to be living up to his potential.Sure, but that’d be a cold comment to make after returning from the MNT where he received widespread applaud.
Now if Dome then proceeded to kick a few dogs being walked down the street, and maybe scream at a baby, I’d believe your interpretation is correct, but short of that I’d like to believe he wasn't that level of ass after Lewis returned.
The way I understand it, contemporary football teams defend from the front as a team. The furthest men forward are charged with leading the press and calling it off to an extent. Here’s me issue with all of this. He’s a forward. Shit on for apparently not doing enough on defense. Meanwhile we have defenders (sweat/mata) who are over run every game. Sweat, who receives the ball 10+ times down the left and can’t put in a decent cross to save his life.
Why aren’t they on the bench? Why aren’t they receiving the same treatment?
If we don’t find a new LB this summer or at the latest the next offseason it’s obvious this club is very poorly ran and Reyna needs to go.
