Maxi goes 90 or almost 90 every single game at age 39. It must be a record. I mean, most minutes played in a season at age 39 or older in the history of the league. I'm sure there aren't many competitors, and if you restrict it to outfield players it's his to lose.

I want to know what's up with Keaton. I really hope he's carrying a knock or he's still in load management mode. If not and Pascal is choosing to start Gustavo at CB and Trewin at CM over Keaton at CM and Trewin at CB that's crazy.
If its not an injury and Pascal truly prefers, Trewin and possibly Perea in the midfield over Keaton the team should trade Keaton to some place where he can be a consistent starter. Keaton is way too good to be relegated to a late game sub role.

We definitely need a striker. Let Reid battle. He's young but give him a few games. I would rather get these results giving him a run out than trying to make a flawed roster work somehow.

I will admit that I missed today’s game as the youngest Gotham, Jr. had a U10 travel game. His team has good players, but lost today due to a lack of coordination, abject laziness, and ball watching, particularly on defense.
So, in some respects, I didn’t miss today’s game at all.

I don't think we can blame Jansen in a game where the players were visibly not working as hard as the opposition. We were out shot, out worked, out fought to every ball. That's mentality. Whatever Jansen can say to them, it's up to them to pull together as a team and figure it out. This is when Martins and Maxi and other leaders of the group need to step up.
Very uninspiring performance. I was thrilled after the Open Cup win, but perhaps NJ are just worse than us.
I absolutely think you can blame the manager if the players aren’t producing the right effort
Props to the Club for coming out and saying it.
if it is long term performances like this, sure. Leadership boils down to the coach to get everyone motivated. But for one game, at home, the players need to take responsibility.
There can certainly be questions asked with regards to the starting XI though.

I blame the front office more than anyone, 6 games in 18 days with no depth takes a toll. They waste so many spots on guys that are no where near ready to play as opposed to signing those guys to the II's and then filling the roster with affordable MLS level back ups. No striker makes for awkward tactics every match. Not learning from the past and just moving on from Magno. He's back with inconsistent effort, poor off ball movement and on and off again injuries just like the last time he was on the team.
OK, just got home. Was that actually a penalty? Our whole team was protesting and pointing up at the jumbotron, and the replays didn't look like much to me on the crappy in-stadium monitors. But apparently there was no VAR disagreement with the call? Was a truly WTF moment in the stadium.

For sure. The roster issues are the foundation of our issues, I think. Not only do we not have proper depth to rotate the squad during schedule congestion and to make up for injuries, but we have lack of competition at all positions, which will lead to complacency no matter how motivated a player may think they may be.
The way things are going, it looks like we are going to hobble into the playoffs as road warriors again and either make an early exit or put up a commendable effort but fall short once again (i.e., doing just enough for the club to say, "See? we got to the conference semis again! We're competitive!"). Then we'll hobble along through the sprint season and then maybe, just maybe, the club may try to sign some players to open the new stadium with a full, proper squad. Or maybe not. Who knows at this point.
