Montreal (Home) - Postmatch

1) Dome, out.

2) Sell Medina...for anything.

3) Good to get Sands playing time, but Sands and Ring together is not enough forward momentum in the midfield. May want one to play the 8, but at heart they are both a 6.

I
My boycott will remain in place. The field and the team are actually getting worse.

We’re on the precipice of going over the edge into complete irrelevance.
I went from watching every game, every pre season game since the team was announced to completely not giving a fuck. This has to do with MLS in general.

After 22 years supporting the league, their model is quickly making MLS, for me at least, go to complete irrelevance.

Same is true for this team, again for me, until we have people in charge that actually care about this team instead of this "project". Again, that is all you hear from anyone, be it new player that comes in, any new coach. It's about this "project".

NYC soccer fans deserve better, no wonder MLS is irrelevant in the area. It all started with the red bull take over from the metrostars which pissed me off completely, then the ineptitude of MLS and people running the Cosmos to not make them NYC2, now to this shit show we see on a God awful pitch, with absolutely no vision and creativity on the pitch with a coach that couldn't give a rat's ass and players not good enough.

This all falls on MLS, Garber, CFG, and Reyna. Dome is bad. But this isn't on him. He should have never been made manager. They should have had a backup plan knowing full well Vieira was only here for max 2 years.

Again, the ineptitude to take the momentum the fans built since day one and turn it into what we see today is a complete embarrassment.

Fans like me that love soccer, want their own fucking team, need and want a club that is genuine and that is competent. Wtf are we supposed to do when fans want to love a club but the options are not there???????

No stadium news in 5 years, to be a complete shit show over the last 20+ games in a league that is all about parity, is just inexcusable with the resources we "supposedly" have.

This is beyond frustrating. It is total and complete failure from everyone and everyone should be ashamed of themselves.

This team is shit.
The coach is shit.
The tactics are shit.
The Stadium is so shit that no one is showing up anymore.
The field is so shit that it’s a miracle no one got injured in today’s match.
The only thing that isn’t shit is the fans who actually care enough to go to the stadium to watch this shit.

The only silver lining is that Atlanta is off this weekend so NYCFC can’t be in last place. But that is where they deserve to be.

The most frightening thing is that this team hasn’t improved a lick since last year’s debacle (and the player talent is arguably better and deeper). There is no hope for an aha moment unless it involves the realization that there is no hope with Dome.

Ayooo game was trash

My sources say players are confused as hell with dome and they done with him most likely

If you'd have missed the red card for whatever reason, you'd never have known from watching the last 20 minutes. Complete and utter failure to capitalize on an already below-par team.

I've never seen the field as bad as it was today. It was downright dangerous at times and a complete embarrassment. We've done a decent job of showing up at Yankee Stadium to date, but if results keep going like this, it's not hard to think of a scenario where every aspect of our home situation is a legit laughing stock.

Heber looked lively, and I've never seen a shinier head, but why was he so deep for so much of the game? What have we even signed this guy for?

James Sands is a great player, but I'm not sure him and Ring belong in the same midfield. That's an uncomfortable truth that we're going to have to come to terms with eventually.

Mitrita has a David Villa-esque aversion to bringing in his teammates. I love watching the guy, but until we get David Villa-esque production, then the jury's out for me.

I'm pretty firmly Dome Out at this point, but at the same time, I don't remember the last good game we had without Maxi, and that probably extends back towards the PV days. Let's see how we do with our first choice #9 and #10 in place.

One positive? Tinnerholm played really well. Fun times.

Players I won’t say who said the stuff I heard
I mean, I said after last game there was gonna be a locker room revolt.... if it doesn’t happen, the players have no backbone.

Most beautiful day in ages and the stadium was less than half full.

4yo daughter got her first cap today, but mom pulled her after 45minutes of a lively but unfocused display of spectating - she was more excited by the hot chocolate than the play on the field. Fast asleep the moment she got in the car. Seems the team had the same idea as she did in the second half.

Dome is just a joke. Really. The guy has no business being employed. He’s ruined the team completely and at this point he should have the balls to resign.
