Preseason - All Matches

All the matches from IMG academy are on a paid stream run by the academy.
Awe... Well thanks Dan, guess I'll just be waiting for the Chicago game to see the team. I'll be looking forward to some analysis from those who do watch tonight!

Can someone with an IMG all access pass to the stream kindly log on during the 5pm game before ours and let us know what to expect with the quality of the stream? It may help folks to decide whether or not to purchase.

Makes you wonder... you have to imagine there's a pretty big influx of subscriptions over the last month... they could at least get a better camera or someone to tell us what's going on.

Disclaimer: If it's the same feed as last time, you're best bet is watching on your phone.

Add me to the list of people that would appreciate this. If it's approaching the the quality of the feed from the MTL game I will probably drop the cash. If its more along the lines of the first IMG game i'll stick with the highlights. I wish we had just gone the sun coast invitational route. We could have been playing MLS squads instead of random Denmark 2nd division teams and had quality streams.

I'm less worried about the camera and more worried about their bandwidth and the ability to provide a high quality feed. Since they are in the stadium the camera angle should be better and one would hope it's mounted on something this time. Unfortunately neither of those things will matter if they are pumping out more potato quality video.

So the club hasn't mentioned anything about the game being streamed so I am not hopeful. I certainly won't pay to have IMG's Sophomore JV backup goalkeepers mom holding a late 90's model handheld camera while trying to sip her caramel latte at the same time.... alright I might but I won't like it one bit.

Watching the FC Cincinnati vs. Reykjavik FC match. Nothing like the OKC Energy match. They have multiple camera angles that are all HD, high quality. However, the panning can be a bit slow compared to the game action. There's one play-by-play commentator, very basic. There's a giant ass scoreboard at the bottom of the screen. This is the main stadium at IMG. I think it's worth the $15 for the three matches.

Clutch, Jane.

Eh... I'd be surprised if football suffers more than 6 scholarships over 3 years and a couple of years of "probation". The only real issue is the David Saunders stuff, and he's been gone for 6 years after getting fired. He already has received an 8 year show cause. Only current stuff is pretty much Tunsil, and he sat for 7 games before the NCAA reinstated him.

There's not a single pay for play allegation. Besides, if we were paying people, why wouldn't we close better? We missed on 4/5 of our final targets. So if we are paying, others must be paying at least as much. I think most kids get the same money no matter where they sign, so they end up signing where they want.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. They want us to vacate wins from Nutt, who cares. We won like 3 games his last two years after he ran the program into the ground.

It's also not necessarily that other teams are paying the same, it's the coaching that can be had at other schools + how many prospects make it to the NFL. I don't know what numbers your Rebels have sent to the NFL recently, but teams like Alabama and FSU can probably have smaller brown paper bags because they've set the standard for making guys millionaires come draft time - FSU set a national record over the past 3-4 years. For some recruits, the coaching and future earnings mean more than the immediate gratification.

Godfrey went to Ole Miss. I used to be on a private board with him. Hell, I know who at least 2 of the sources in the artcile are. I'm telling you, 90% of the kids get about the same. There are school boosters out there who will hold a kid hostage through his family, and that's where it gets sticky. As far as I know, we don't do that. I know at least 3 SECW schools who at least occasionally will do it. To me, that's the shitty thing. Who cares otherwise.

And again, there are no allegations regarding us paying recruits, so it's a moot point to talk about this re the NCAA.

We have 3 top 15 picks leaving as juniors this year, including the top receiver and left tackle (maybe #1 overall), so that's not so bad.

And that's despite the fact that we had about 4 years of no one making it because of the aforementioned shithead Nutt and his lazy recruiting. Basically, we have that many players who made it despite being in our worst period ever.

I can't take you seriously on this topic if you cite FSU, as they are notoriously one of the bad boys. Some of their internet brigade are seriously butthurt by Ole Miss beating them head to head on several players, though. But hell, even Bud Elliott has been defending Ole Miss. Freeze is a good recruiter who has actually gone after top players, and that and a better AD are really the difference.

To the announcers credit, he knew all the players and had some info on them, including the other team. Combination of bad stream and inability of the defense to beat a two man press made it unwatchable

Was anyone elses stream stop and start? Mine would go a few seconds, delay, start again, stop. Misery. Wouldn't stream to Chromecast either. Had to cast my screen, which was sucky.
Mine was like that until I changed the Stream Quality from HD to 720. On 720, I had maybe 2-3 hiccups all game which was fine because it played in perfectly with our errant passes.
