Taste of India Restaurant/Truck Stop

- [Owner] Are you from around here?
- [me] No
- You probably don’t want it that hot
- We eat Indian food in New York where we’re from.
- where?
- Queens
- where?
- Middle Village
- I lived in Jackson Heights and drove a cab all over NY for 12 years until I decided I didn’t need that any more and came down here.

Gave us a free delicious spiced stuffed bread serving plus more to take with. Cook came out to make sure we liked it.

Sometimes the Queens food finds are at a truck stop in Livingston, Alabama.

If I ever do finally get that month-long Amtrak pass I'm certainly going to be taking the Crescent to (or from) New Orleans but now I'm definitely going to hop off for some Indian food LOL

I went to a fraternity party in Livingston, Alabama over 30 years ago. Other than the tiny university, not much going on around them parts.

I'm sure you got taken care of.

UWA Tigers (like I heard of them before yesterday).
Area seems to have a robust Indian trucker community. I think they adopted us because Queens.

Chicken patty inside coco bread at Chef Kwame's stand in a food court in the 400 level of Citi Field. Pretty good. I wish this was open during our games. There's a few good things at that level and the patio deck is fun.

Go Rockies. ☹️

Everyone complains about David Lee, but I don't think anything is as bad as my Rox.

Tacombi Taqueria on Austin Street in Forest Hills.

I thought I heard about this place from here but apparently not. Maybe Reddit?
Regardless, I got 2 different fish tacos and a bowl of rice and beans yesterday for lunch. Ate one of the tacos before I remembered to take a photo. Then ordered a second of that one because it was so good.

I always think taqueria is spelled with a cq.

Also I made mapo tofu at home this week and I live in Queens so that counts and it was awesome.

Finished the half marathon in Corona Park and drove over to Sunnyside for Bolivian Llama Party. It's a walkup window with sidewalk tables and plans to open a dining room next door. Had their beef salteñas (love child of an empanada and a soup dumpling) and two of their sandwiches (brisket and trancapecho). Everything was awesome. Would absolutely love if they brought these salteñas to our new home - perfect stadium food.
