Latest standings after Wednesday night's matchups.
Atlanta moves into the lead again with a win over Columbus, but now we have a game in hand. Columbus with the loss remains 4 points behind us, but now we have 2 games in hand again to stretch that lead. Can the great Dome Torrent lead us to CCL greatness? Also, NJ jumps up a couple of positions with their home win over Seattle. NJ, Portland and Dallas all have 1-2 games in hand, but while they remain around 10 points back, I'm not too worried at this point.
It's all USOC matchups this week where we should be rooting for:
Friday 6/15
POR over LAG 11pm
Saturday 6/16
NJ over PHI 7pm
SKC over DAL 9pm (Dallas is not a big threat in CCL race, but SKC winning again would allow top 2 teams to qualify)
Wednesday 6/20
ATL over CHI 7:30pm
Then the MLS regular Season starts up again on Saturday 6/23
Saturday 6/23
DAL @ NJ 6pm
CLB @ LAFC 10:30pm
Sunday 6/24
POR @ ATL 4:30pm
TOR @ NYC 5pm
I think we hope for the draw with DAL/NJ for CCL purposes, but I wouldn't be upset if POR won for playoff standings and just wanting NJ to lose. A CLB loss at LAFC would help us in many ways. I think on Sunday we have to root for POR to beat ATL, any loss they can have now is good for us to catch them/keep pace. And we're all Blue for the final match of the week at home versus a TOR team that looks lost as of late and hopefully we have a manager for!
