Dundee were the better of the sides but the strikers were not clinical enough and were punished when Blair Spittal of Dundee United scored two goals in two minutes, on the 65th and 67th. Dundee stared heaping on the pressure to United, and eventually pulled one back through Greg Stewart in the 81st minute. The game became dramatic at the end, Scott Bain making a world class save to prevent United putting the game to bed, just for Dundee to run up the pitch and score via James McPake with the last kick of the ball for an equaliser. Fantastic viewing.

In other news, over 40,000 tickets have been sold already at Ibrox for the Rangers v Hibernian game on the 23rd (Me and my mates are going). Fantastic from the Rangers fans. Only 12,000 left to sell in 12 days. No problem. Rangers could be six points ahead of Hibs if they win that game only three games into the league season.

Blair Spittal is a guy with great potential if he can get his confidence up.

United have had a great conveyor belt of talent for a few years now:

Johnny Russel, Ryan Gauld, Andy Robertson, Stuart Armstrong, etc.

Ali Coote is being tipped for big things, as is our young German keeper (who we picked up based on his YouTube audition video) even though he flogged a goal at the end of this game.

So, as it stands, Hearts are on top of the Prem on 12 points, second are Celtic with 10, and third Aberdeen with 9 but with a game in hand over the top two.

Rangers look set to romp the league this season and look to be getting stronger as the weeks go on. 17 goals in 4 matches, 82 shots, highest possession stat at 71% (yesterday against Alloa), lowest at 56%. Strong additions in pre-season and a fantastic new philosophy employed by the new management team gives rangers a very exciting future. A cup run in either the league or scottish cup may not be too far out. Promotion seems to be an inevitability this season as rangers look to return to the top flight after four years in absence since forced demotion.

I read about that game and celtic should have won 3-1 as opposed to 3-2. Didn't a former Celtic player net a late consolation goal for Malmo?
 
It will be hilarious if they lose the away leg and this knocks them out. As a Scot, part of me wants to see one of our teams do well, but there's a bigger part that just wants to see Celtic crash and burn as often as possible.

Big game in the championship this weekend, Rangers take on Hibs on Sunday to a 51,000 sellout crowd at Rangers home Ibrox. Teed up to be a fiery affair with various transfer sagas, hatred between fans, war of words between managers, staff poaching's and a history between the clubs. Hibs will be Rangers biggest competitors this season and after only 2 games in the season already trail us by 3 points, this could make it 6 points only 3 games in, and it looks likely going by our recent performances and their's. Take in mind the first fixture of the season three weeks ago so Rangers thrash Hibs 6-2 AWAY from home, never mind in front of the fantastic home support we always provide for the team. I fancy a comfortable win. Ibrox will be utterly rocking come kick off, can't wait, i recommend watching this game to all the Americans on here, will be a fantastic occasion with passion, hatred, good football, and an all round great advert for Scottish football. It's on TV (Though i'm unsure what US channel, probably FOX soccer)

(Wouldn't be a surprise even at this early stage should Rangers go unbeaten in the league, as they are so clearly better than the rest of the dross in the division)

I agree mate, even as a Rangers fan, a part of me wants them to progress, to help the scottish game and keep the league from becoming a total laughing stock, however, the rangers fan in me takes over of course and a condition of that is me wanting to see that disgusting club papped out of everything as soon as possible.

Gers are now 6 points ahead of second strongest team hibs after only three games.

Tavernier with a belter of a freekick. World class goal.

 
Celtic out of the Champions League. Cue a raucous chorus of "Let's all laugh at Celtic".

On a side note, their B-team totally hosed Dundee United at the weekend, so we are even worse than first thought.
 
In the League Cup on Wednesday night, rangers pumped Airdrieonians 5-0 with a weakened team. Putting us through to the third round (last 16)

Zelalem, Tavernier, Oduwa looked especially bright in this game along with Waghorn and Halliday.

Hibs saw off Stranraer 1-0 also to make it through.

Ouch - I hadn't looked at that until now. Hibs sitting in 5th place. Do you think the Hibees are destined for a third season in the Championship??? O how the mighty have fallen.

Oh, also, Celtic still signing the best players from other teams, despite criticizing them for not being good enough.

Hibs may well do, can't see anything but Rangers winning that league now. Which menas hibs will have to rely on the playoffs where there isnt a guarantee of promotion.
 
Another romping 5-0 victory for Rangers at home at Ibrox in front of 44,000 people. Really starting to look like a force to be reckoned with by any scottish team now, 9th consecutive win and sit atop the scottish championship by 5 points after 5 games.
