I dont do sublimation printing(thats the process for the lightweight scarves) but I have screen printed flat garments for 31 years in westchester county at a competitive price. you never outsource for quality. I have stopped buying from certain suppliers because they choose to go to asia where the quality sucks as opposed to a NAFTA or CAFTA where the quality is good. 3000 is a small run. I can guarantee that it would have been cheaper to do it here after shipping costs
You would be surprised to find out that the guy who ordered this stuff took the first price he found online and went with it. Most of my new customers come in with a quote from Custom Ink which is a big online company. I always beat the price by 10% as most local printers would do.
You realize we don't know it was the scarf coming from overseas. I realize you ruled out the cards, but in addition to cards and a scarf the email said we would get "and some other items for each seat you own." Statuettes, toys, commemorative coins? I've no idea. But whatever they are they could be what is holding things up and the scarves could be local.
