Just what the title says. I bought a few and it looks like they are going pretty fast.

I wonder if it might be a good idea to have a general thread for ticket alerts/announcements etc - things that forum members are likely to want to know but that aren't necessarily worthy of their own thread.

interesting....im planning to do a trip to portland but not sure if they will designate an away section and specific tickets for that in a separate sale

True enough but without being a TR member, and without knowing whether they are going to set aside one section or two (or more), I didn't want to count on getting one of those.

Thanks for the heads up -- I just snagged some tickets in the upper level near to where the away supporters sat last year. You are right, there are very few tickets left.

In fairness they will probably offer more seats for sale later, they usually only release a small number at a time. But knowing for sure that the game will be sold out there's no reason to take chances. Here's hoping for some more NYCFC fans in 218!
 
I hope they aren't continuing to 'sanction' us by allocating only 500 seats instead of the 1,500 they allocated for the first away game

What sections did they put away supporters in last year when they sold 1500? Neither 219, 220, or 221 have any seats for sale on Ticketmaster, so they could be blocking off more than the one away section. But there are seats in 219 for sale on Stubhub. Anyway, sounds like roxfontaine will have the answer soon.

Upon further reflection, I might have misspoken. I was looking back through old e-mails to see what section I was in for the first away game, and I think TR was able to secure all of section 220 (520 seats total). I think demand was estimated by the number of folks who RSVP'd on eventbrite a month prior.

Maybe it was only the second match where we were supposed to have been allotted 1,500 and then it was cut down. Others may have less foggy memories.

Fun fact: although I was at the first away match, and the home match, during the second away game I was ferrying through Alaska's Wrangell Narrows but managed to catch the game in one of only two bars on the island I was b&b'ing on at the time (pop. ≈ 3,000), who graciously agreed to show it. I just checked back in on this game via Ticketmaster and noticed some things that may be of interest to folks here:

1) They opened up many more seats

2) They are selling venue seats in 219, which probably means that away fans will definitely only get one section, section 220.

3) They raised prices even more relative to their "regular" games - When I bought seats a month ago the cheapest available were $36, they are now $44.

4) RB must be a lot more lenient with resellers than NYCFC. There are entire rows of 20+ resale tickets. I'm not averse to some level of resale and I do it a bit myself to help afford my season tickets but I think NYCFC has struck a better balance.

I'm of two minds about the higher prices. On the one hand it is better that the club (yes, even THAT club) get the money than a reseller. But even if low prices lead to a field day for resellers, they also give motivated fans of lesser means a chance to get in.

Currently debating whether to get seats in 219 to be closer to the away supporters, after having previously bought seats in 218 . . .
 
Are you saying the team-sold tickets are more expensive for this game compared to every other game on their schedule? If so, then that's a crock of shit for hacking up the price knowing it's our fans paying. F'em. I'll watch at home.

Basketball and baseball do the same thing based on opponent and day/time of the game.

As of this year, NYCFC does it as well, though not to nearly the same degree.
