Just responded in the other thread -- sure looks that way. Definitely stalled. Pity.QBFC is defunct?
I wasn't one of those who put down a deposit. I do remember that York was always temporary and Willet sther long term plan. Don't have a link for that handy though.Just responded in the other thread -- sure looks that way. Definitely stalled. Pity.
I'm surprised they had anything to do with Willets Point, though. I was under the impression the stadium at York College was supposed to be their permanent home. At 7,000 seats, it would have been the right size.
Got anything on that mgarbowski? They hopefully told you something for your 50 bucks.
For those who don't remember or never noticed (or never cared), my signature is a reference to my first enthusiasm for, then turn away from QBFC. I guess now maybe it's been long enough to move to a new signature.QBFC is defunct?
Sorry, misread that scrolling through. I thought they got you for $50 too.I wasn't one of those who put down a deposit. I do remember that York was always temporary and Willet sther long term plan. Don't have a link for that handy though.
I’m the $ man here. Or the sucker who gave his $ to them. In the QBFC thread I realized I’m getting emails. It looks like the rumors of their death have been greatly exaggerated.Sorry, misread that scrolling through. I thought they got you for $50 too.
What a shame. I'd like to follow the USL but it's a waste if there's no New York team.
The Capital District has a couple places where a properly sized stadium could go, but I have no idea if anyone is even thinking about it. Nothing in the local news. Albany wouldn't be a bad location, though.
Didn't know the land was owned by or to be used for Queensboro FC (which is now defunct)...

An announcement for soccer-specific stadium for New York City FC just might closer than we think.www.frontrowsoccer.com
Found something. The Field of Schemes guy who doesn't like any stadium deals anywhere at any time wrote about the potential Willets Point site re QBFC.i could of sworn i read the long term location was the factory next to york college. ( i think nycfc even looked at that location briefly in like 2017 ish).

He was also against the York College deal, which IMO was a pretty good deal for everyone if it actually happened, and even the comments on his page mostly agree with that. That crazy idea to put a minor-league soccer stadium next to the Mets park is probably just a crazy idea
Back when news broke last month of a possible USL franchise called Queensboro F.C. building (or having built for it, or god knows what) a 25,000-seat minor league soccer stadium next door to the New York Mets' ballpark, on a plot of land originally cleared for affordable housing, I promised a...www.fieldofschemes.com
Inside the Queensboro FC lease: How USL team is getting to build a soccer stadium on a public college campus
Back in April, I reported on the announcement by the Queensboro F.C. USL team of an agreement with the City University of New York to begin work this summer on a 7,500-stadium on York College's campus in Jamaica, Queens. I immediately asked York College for a copy of the lease, and was told I...www.fieldofschemes.com
My disdain for the Field of Schemes site is odd because he and I probably agree on 80-90% of stadium deals which are giveaways to teams and leagues who don't need or deserve it, but he just refuses to ever make distinctions and his inflexible dogmatism pisses me off.
In the smoldering ruins of the auto shops and the $50 deposits of QBFC fans which seem to have been set on fire.Where’s the smoke?
Some of us are suffocating in it. You just can't see it from your current location. But try to sit tight for another couple of days....Where’s the smoke?
It was technically a $25 deposit. I just put down for 2 seats. In the smoldering ruins of the auto shops and the $50 deposits of QBFC fans which seem to have been set on fire.
I actually was aware of that, but the rhythm of $50 worked so much better than $25. Everything must serve the joke.It was technically a $25 deposit. I just put down for 2 seats.
That part of it doesn't make any sense. Maybe QBFC had some sort of agreement that wasn't quite in place yet for a stadium there, but I'm struggling to see how NYCFC would need to work with QBFC to "secure the land".Didn't know the land was owned by or to be used for Queensboro FC (which is now defunct)...

Yes. I would wager on right given the specificity.
