Now if the concept turned into something more like this from the (2008?) Olympics in Beijing, for sure we could call our stadium the pigeon nest and the supporters section the Coop
Since these stadium designs aren't final, It's leaves room to wonder what the final design will look like. If it looks like this I would be a ok with that.
I think they SHOULD go big with a design like this. it is NYC after all and it will be the crown jewel of soccer venues in the north east and has a chance to be the crown jewel stadium of MLS.
but - i think it would probably cost close to 2 billion to do something like that olympic stadium here in NYC. so, sadly, i think we'll get something pretty generic with bits of flare.
They can be very different. This looks like one of those generic concepts, something which fits and has a couple key elements. But the ultimate design may or may not look anything like it.I was wondering the same thing -- with everything just labeled as a concept, how close are the concepts to the actual stadiums built?
the one thing i think we can gleam form the concepts is the shape of the stadium. We know the footprint it needs to fit so maybe it could look like that shape. Also the partners really trend to lean on populous so they might be brought in.They can be very different. I think the rest of the development, meaning the residential units, are probably really close to what they're actually intending to build. There are a lot of very detailed conceptual drawings. But the fact nothing was unveiled today tells me the design hasn't been done yet, probably because the architects needed to know the exact location.
Kenny told us just this week not to rely on the specifics in the renderings because they're not actual yet. They can be very different. This looks like one of those generic concepts, something which fits and has a couple key elements. But the ultimate design may or may not look anything like it.

You always had to cross more bodies of water than the Hudson to get from RBA to Yankee Stadium unless you took the long way round looping above Manhattan..So, when we move to Queens in '27, does the Hudson River Derby still work?
yup, the main thing dividing NYCFC and the Red Bulls is still the Hudson River. So, when we move to Queens in '27, does the Hudson River Derby still work?
I'm almost certain they'll be the architects. And they're good.the one thing i think we can gleam form the concepts is the shape of the stadium. 1627 days, and 232 weeks until May 1, 2027. (Randomly pick May 1, 2027 as it is a Saturday) and guessing the stadium won't be ready for the season opener.
Should we make a shittach? My primary game buddy at Yankee Stadium in 2015. She'll be an electrical engineer come 2027, IAGATP.

Oof - according to nycfc website, ulurp is going to start "Before the end of 2023" - that sounds like a long time before it "starts" lol.
Mid 2027 - late 2027 sounds like
Ugh. You had “etched in brick” right there in front of you and you just walked right by!!! LOLFirst we have to work through the phase where we take the existing renderings asholy writ, gospel, etched in stone and try to decipher guaranteed, detailed substance out of nothing.
I'll always be an etched in stone kind of guy.Ugh. You had “etched in brick” right there in front of you and you just walked right by!!! LOL
