A train from Fulton st downtown is 30 min. That's not bad for access. The aqueduct location is already properly zoned. Lot less red tape through the city. This could be a viable option to getting a stadium in my lifetime.

Largely irrelevant. Despite being in the middle of all those people, the access to mass transportation is terrible, the Belt and the Van Wyck are two of the worst highways in the tri-state area, the A train from Penn Station is nearly an hour and it would even take 40 minutes to get to that location from Forest Hills using public transportation. There is a reason that Aqueduct is a dump and the city let a disgusting casino be built there.

The most vocal people on this board could not be less representative of the target audience for this team. As others have said, the die-hards barely matter. The masses matter and the masses aren't shlepping to South Ozone Park.

Except for the people who live in South Ozone park, Ozone Park, The Rockaways, Woodhaven, Broad Channel, Hamilton Beach & Lindenwood and the Q53 bus can get people from Northern queens to Rockaway Blvd and a 1 stop hop to the stadium.

I'm not sure how true the Aqueduct story is, being from Queens and living about 15 minutes away, I would absolutely love it. I think a lot more people from Queens would go to matches if it was local. In a few years lets turn all those Barca and RM jersey's into NYCFC! Being a fan from the start (season ticket holder too) I don't care where it is, as long as its in the 5 boroughs I am there. For people to say they would drop it if it's in Queens is pretty weak. I'd be equally happy no matter where it is, just have it in NYC.

Anywhere in NYC Is going to be far for some one to get to. It's a big city. This isn't boston people. If it's in the Bronx it's an hour plus from the people in queens and Brooklyn. Since the Bronx population is the smallest other than Staten Island it makes more sense to be closer to queens and Brooklyn

The comments knocking South Ozone Park make me giggle, because it's in comparison to the South Bronx. :)

Bronx or Queens I'll be there regardless, but Aqueduct would be a HUGE hit with the locals and surrounding areas. I can already see the BCAC packing the group section for games. :)

If it got moved to Queens id have to drop my season tickets. I'd still support this team, but I wouldn't be able to make every game. I would probably get a partial plan or something like that for games during the weekend.

This is getting way too dramatic. Wherever the stadium ends up someone is gonna be pissed. Everyone from north of the coty is crying foul because they need to go a little further
...what about supporters from southern Brooklyn or eastern Queens, or anywhere on Long Island. Bronx is only conveniant for Uptown Manhattan, Bronx and the mainland.

Also, let's not forget: nothing is official until shovels hit the ground. Do you really want to be the guy that was ready to jump ship at the very thought of danger? Nothing has happened yet; no plans confirmed; no rumors denied.

Ding ding ding. This is all speculation, unknown sources giving out misleading contradictory information. Like Einwindir says, let's hear the official word from the club before freaking out. This is why I had a problem with the Third Rail twitter account declaring they had inside info about the Bronx site being a go. Until you hear from the club, nothing is certain and it's bad for reputation and reliability to repeat rumors who may end up being false. Long story short, wait till the club clears the air. I thought I was on redbullfanatic for a minute.

But South Ozone Park is far for just about everyone.

I've been on the Van Wyck for 45 minutes from JFK to Flushing Meadows at 9pm.

There's a reason Aqueduct has been left to rot and there's nothing nice in that area.

I'm coming from Staten Island so wherever they put it its gonna be a long commute for me. I'm a diehard though, looking at the big picture I hope the stadium isn't put in a place that will turn people off

...except for the fans who live in Queens & South Brooklyn and Western Long Island who are willing to trek to The Bronx.

Also, there is nothing nice in the area, can only be fixed by...putting something nice in the area! :)

If the stadium is built there, the club loses alot of it makn demographic but gain part of another. If the stadium is built in queens the game atmosphere would be low, to level with the parents who want to take families there

I just asked my friend who lives in howard beach what he thought of a stadium in aqueduct. "Fuck that id rather watch a gaynorgy, more exciting". My friend isnt very bright but has insight kinda

If the temporary home is Yankee Stadium, moving to southern queens seems ridiculous. You are moving 45 minutes away from where you are starting and trying to develop an initial fan base. There is not even a team yet, the only thing that has drawn any fans is the location. If the plan is to move the team a significant distance from YS, I think they are going to lose a lot of buzz.

The reason many people in NYC and points north and east do not support RBNJ is because the stadium is so far away. Queens basically does the same thing. You are making it a LI/Brooklyn team.

Put a circle around the aqueduct location, 50% of that circle is in the water. Put that circle around the bronx and you are drawing from all directions. Its just such a bad idea, I can't believe its even being considered, if it is.

Take the same two circles and count the population in each. Even with the water there is just more people. Fairfield county only has 933,000 people while Nassau has 1,400,000. Westchester county = 900,000 vs BK = 2,500,000. Bronx = 1,400,000 vs Queens = 2,300,000. Thats a net over over 3 million more people in the surrounding areas to aqueduct than Yankee stadium. The numbers dont lie. And I think you are off base that the only reason there is a buzz is due to the TEMPORARY location.

My point is that you still draw Brooklyn and Queens to YS, but you also gain the northern burbs. At aqueduct, you lose those burbs. And if you can't see that the money in westchester and ffld counties make up for lower population numbers, i don't know what to tell you.

Nassau, Brooklyn and Queens are still in YS circle, that's the point.

I am not sure I agree but can respect your opinion. You wont get the same amount of people from queens huffing it up to the bronx if it is up there just as you wont get the same amount of people making the haul from CT if it is down at aqueduct.

as for money. If you don't realize there is more money in Nassau County then Fairfield CT I dont know what to tell you. And tickets start at $300 for a full season so we aren't exactly talking about billionaire money here.
