Ok I'm going to play look at google maps and think a stadium can go there again.....

Cnr N 3rd st & Kent avenue & N 1st st across from the NYPA power plant in Kent in Williamsburg.

Large parcel of land and looks like some abandoned warehouses.

Probably has apartments on it by now though.

Did anyone here go to that specific Patricoff event?

I attended the Tuesday breakfast with about 9 other STHs - some of the things mentioned in the HRB article are true - some of it is misleading. Not sure which member they spoke with or if they (source or author) spun/misinterpreted what was said. I did not take away that there would be an announcement by the end of the year - although that would be nice. They are definitely hard at work, were reasonably transparent, and can confirm what we all know - they are committed to building within the 5 Boroughs and keeping it subway accessible. Once we have a location the build out would be approximately 3 years.

Ugh.... THREE years is not what I was expecting unless that's for approvals and construction and not simply construction.

That's said, if they wanted to throw more manpower at it and work extra shifts/7days per week, that's doable as most developers are working non-stop in the city nowadays.

The time line includes approvals.

Not sure if he is being sincere, but comparing the Krafts to this is a little unfair given the fact that CFG has already invested way more into MLS in 3 years than the Krafts have in 20.

True. I actually think the stick the club received for moving the game to Hartford, was the reason he came out with this.

Wouldn't it have made sense to contact Patricof for quotes/confirmation of the recollection of the person who attended this session? Or at least say that you tried to?
This level of specific confirmation doesn't jive with other reports here so I have a bit of a hard time with it.

It's HudsonRiverBlue, so it's kinda sorta playing loose & fast with everything.

Not a big fan of the Krafts but that statement isn't close to being true. Maybe in a decade it might be but as of today .... absolutely no way.

I hope i'm wrong, but when it comes to stadium news and you hear clubs start saying things like Patricof said, you should be a little worried.

Go over to the Revs board on BigSoccer. They have a thread titled after when RevsPrez said 12-24 months. This was many years ago and they still get on him about it.
Aaaahhh I see. Yeah hopefully we don't end up in that predicament.

I was only referencing the $ invested by Kraft as opposed to CFG. Kraft has invested almost $1.7b in MLS over 20 years. More than Hunt but less than Anchutz.

Sorry to butt in .....
