Yeah, not sure how drought is a problem for a lawn that is irrigated. You can always water a dry lawn, but it's difficult to dry a damp one. Damp lawns are bad as they lead to fungus, which is the #1 cause of shitty lawn? Rain is different than humidity. Rain soaks into the soil, feeding roots. Humidity stays on the grass and attracts fungus overnight, away from the cleansing of the hot sun.
KB is is a cool-season grass that can't make it through a hot, humid summer, which is why it almost never used in the southeast.
I'm no lawn expert, I just have and (try to) maintain ome. This is all just basic stuff, which makes me think you're just googling things to be contrary.
