You’ve just described south Florida and the lawns there thrive on rain and humidity.
There has been far more smoke this year than there's been the last 2 or 3 years.
It’s almost like they told her to post that knowing it will get back to us. ‘This should hold them off for a few months.’
My feeling is that if an announcement was imminent we'd hear about it before the deadline for season ticket renewal on September 15th.
that would be the smart thing to do, so there isn't a grand exodus of members. that IG post is so cryptic.. why is business in quotes? vision for the new stadium? sounds like imaginary talks to me. plus i don't even know who that person is haha. (forgive my ignorance).
i would love to hear a stadium announcement before the end of the season. in september would be fantastic. I feel like good news like that would drive up ticket sales at the remaining home games purely due to excitement for the future.
It’s not the same, Kentucky bluegrass versus Bermuda, with KB being for northern climates and Bermuda for southern, but they both grow best with rain and humidity. It’s extreme heat and drought conditions that hurt KB, and those weren’t what you tagged our summer as being.
This is a hybrid. The amazing thing about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, then take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.
Yeah, not sure how drought is a problem for a lawn that is irrigated. You can always water a dry lawn, but it's difficult to dry a damp one. Damp lawns are bad as they lead to fungus, which is the #1 cause of shitty lawn? Rain is different than humidity. Rain soaks into the soil, feeding roots. Humidity stays on the grass and attracts fungus overnight, away from the cleansing of the hot sun.
KB is is a cool-season grass that can't make it through a hot, humid summer, which is why it almost never used in the southeast.
I'm no lawn expert, I just have and (try to) maintain ome. This is all just basic stuff, which makes me think you're just googling things to be contrary.

I’m not being contrarian, but you’re describing “basic” stuff that a professional full-time staff with an untold, but guaranteed to be sizable, budget is badly failing at dealing with. They are the experts and it’s painfully obvious they don’t seem to be very good at it, or the type of grass they’ve selected to install is not suited for the city’s climate; while NYC’s winters are still typical NE intense, the summers are much more like the SE US, so IDK, maybe YS needs two types of grass depending on the seasonal split?
While this year has been humid, it has not had the overly intense heat waves that has plagued NYC in the past - I believe only one real heat wave of more than three consecutive days, and while we’ve had intense storms, they’ve been spaced apart with plenty of sunny days to dry the ground plane.
Whatever the issue is, the facility’s staff isn’t getting the job done, and as mentioned by others, this year the field looks worse than every before.
