Stadium Discussion

The concern I (not a doctor) have is, with this variant being so highly transmissible and therefore very likely to mutate, what will the next variant look like?
From the doctor, for this to survive, it has to take on the traits of a cold. Most colds are in actuality coronaviruses in nature. That’s how this virus avoids extinction

It's like the flu. Comes back seasonally as a different variant. Sometimes they're bad, sometimes they're not bad. We'll learn to adjust to this soon enough, if we don't completely eradicate covid. (Which we aren't, let's be honest)

Is the consensus that the first major project of the Adams Admin a stadium for us?
I do think that the MLS Cup does line up perfectly timing wise with the new administration. Even if ever so slightly, it probably does help him push the agenda when the NY general public now knows what NYCFC is, and understands that it is a club that has achieved success, gained notoriety, etc. As of a few weeks ago, most probably had never even heard of our club. Now we are on the news, in the papers, celebrating at City Hall, being congratulated by politicians, etc. Higher profile means more support, or at least more understanding.

And momentum with a stadium announcement would really put the team on the map. "Hey did you hear there's a new stadium being built?"

MLS Cup won’t be the reason why a stadium gets built. That said, it can only help and the timing (right before a more business/building-friendly administration comes in) which raises NYCFC’s profile couldn’t be any better.
