Stadium Discussion

The front office better give us news... and fast.

They're not going to tell us anything and we're going to keep spending our money. That's how these things work.

I saw this, and I was intrigued by what that program could do for Yankee Stadium. Dropping the cost would at least bring price and quality into closer alignment (although the price reduction would have to be at least 90% to reach parity).

Ultimately, however, Yankee Stadium lacks the facilities and staff to handle increased volume. If Atlanta are getting more revenues at half the price, that means more than twice as many sales. Lines are bad enough as it is.

I have always expected things to be better at our stadium, where at least the setup would anticipate surges before the game and at halftime.

So... Melinda Katz is giving her State of the Borough address, and she showed a rendering of Willet's Point with a very nice looking stadium to the east* of CitiField. At no point was NYCFC mentioned - but it was a well done, professional rendering. Maybe she commissioned it herself, maybe not... but that's definitely notable.

EDIT:
*EDIT 2: Just to remind those who probably don't want to dig through the black hole of previous stadium posts, the east side is also the side that doesn't require permission from the state legislature.

EDIT:
So does this win the "Most concrete stadium news ever" award and is it eloquent that it didn't come from a NYCFC spokesperson? Or is M Katz playing some kind of longer/shadier game? Me is confused.

There's a definite possibility they're working together now. The most recent lobbyist disclosure shows that the club is lobbying her specifically, something that their filings didn't say before.
