How much affordable housing is Cohen proposing? That’s the angle in our favor. Even so, why couldn’t CFG just offer to subsidize another parking deck for him? Not sure Hochul can afford another sweetheart zillionaire deal, politically. The Bills are a beloved institution in her hometown. A Queens Casino is a very different story.

I think this one gets resolved. It’s much further along than GAL was.

I think it does, too. I think the mayor really wants this project and will push it across the finish line, even if it gets delayed.

Is that real? Can't be.

Alex Cora, manager of the club that plays at Fenway, formerly of the notorious cheating Astros. It has to be fake, right?

Yes. The 0-1 snooze fest with the worst roster since our opening season?

moya is supposed to be a soccer fan. so he should realize having a 25k stadium open in time for the world cup would be meaningless since no games would be held there. first, because stadiums have already been chosen and second, because it doesn't meet the minimum capacity required.

just get it done by 2027. build it well. build it right. we don't need to flash a stadium to people who are going to NJ to watch the world cup.

i think its more using it for friendlies leading up to the WC or maybe have one of the NT use it as "base" for training (although i highly doubt it as probably Red bull facilities would be used since its closer to Met life). still, the bigger issue that needs focus is all this parking lot crap with Cohen.

Yup, most pressing is whether douchenozzle Cohen is still trying to bargain his parking lots into having his casino included in the NYCFC ULURP and essentially torpedoing the whole process.

It might be to build off of the world cup hype rather than for any actual world cup - specific stuff.

FYI

Phase I = paperwork & research if there was ever a recorded Enviornmental issue on property. It’s a 50 odd page report.

Phase II = testing for contaminants if Phase I found any issues. (Air samples, ground samples)

Phase III = this is the longest, hardest, most expensive part. Actual remediation. They will probably have to dig out all the contaminated dirt. Haul it somewhere safe. Build a large concrete basin because of sealevel and how close they are to water. Then fill that basin with “clean dirt” to build on.
