Ran into Don Garber yesterday in the city. Told him about the pitchside price hikes in the new stadium. He said the league hasn't bought it's suite yet at Etihad Park.
Well he said you should talk them about it. I told them I already did for months. They're sticking with the prices. He asked what are you doing to do? I said, it's not worth it and get something cheaper.lol what kind of response is that?
Not sure the league has any say over the matter either. i think he's just happy that NYC is getting a stadium at all.

If you see him again, complain about season pass broadcast quality!Ran into Don Garber yesterday in the city. Told him about the pitchside price hikes in the new stadium. He said the league hasn't bought it's suite yet at Etihad Park.
Between this and your ref baiting at games, MLS is gonna get an order of protection.Ran into Don Garber yesterday in the city. Told him about the pitchside price hikes in the new stadium. He said the league hasn't bought it's suite yet at Etihad Park.

I think I actually wanted to ask him if they fined Messi privately for his post-match comments criticizing the refereeing...Between this and your ref baiting at games, MLS is gonna get an order of protection.
I received it. I'm not sure if I will rsvp for this. Given the price increase for Legends etc this year, I expect these will be more than I want to pay, even if more reasonable than the top 3 levels they started with. OTOH maybe I'd like it. But I really don't want to go visit some mock up installation with salespeople. That's a type of hell. I'm still appalled they are incorporating all the worst parts of buying a car for tickets to a selling league soccer stadium and a team built on feckless teenagers.I just asked for a demo for the first time. Anyone else get this email yet?
Etihad Park Phase 3: Select your Seats!
Agree about the oiliness of the process. I wish there was a full price sheet. I kind of am looking at it like a time share presentation. It's like a challenge. Convince me, you slick salespeople.I received it. I'm not sure if I will rsvp for this. I wish they'd just release a damn price list and open a portal.
ETA: It's not even enough to compare this to car sales. This is the worst parts of both car sales and timeshare presentations.
I emailed my New Stadium Hospitality Representative and asked for a price list in advance. I know the answer will almost certainly be "no." I also used the car sale/timeshare line and asked if that's what he aspired to when he took the job. Arguably harsh, but I reject that my only 2 options are go along compliantly or vote with my wallet. The depth of my contempt for how they are handling this is is boundless. It's very easy to treat customers with respect. Withholding price information until you show up (in person or virtually) to a sales meeting and expecting you to make a decision within minutes is slimy.Agree about the oiliness of the process. It totally would not be worth my time to travel somewhere for this. I opted for the Zoom meeting.

And it won't even work except for the first few customers in each round because the prices leak.

At least according to FootyLovin I can do it by Zoom, and the email does not even mention a mock up like they did for the first 2 Phases. I'm not sure if that's an option or not. Regardless, I hate the process. To have people sign up for a sales meeting without clear pricing or other details and expecting them to make a decision in minutes is manipulative. I just reread the email: no pricing, no stadium chart that clearly shows where each of these sections is, renderings that sort of hint at how high some of them are but noting clear, vague atmosphere and food service descriptions, and of course not even hints of what types of seating is available at the next phases. It's a system that seems much more inclined for business sales than human fan sales. This part of the process, from what you all are saying, sure does feel very slimy. Hopefully general ticket sales will be a little more human but if you were hoping for a premium ticket in the new stadium, hard to feel good about how the Club is handling this.

I expect they won't even give pricing upfront at the meeting. They'll want to show renderings, and slides, and describe benefits, and then ask "Is this something you might be interested in?" and you still won't know the cost. I kind of want to schedule a zoom, ask for pricing at the outset, and if they deflect just hang up.
Moya introduced legislation in February 2024 that would "require the New York City Department of Transportation to provide regular ferry service from Willets Point in Queens to the borough of Manhattan". That legislation was later discussed in September by the City Council Committee on Economic Development and Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, but has been sitting in "Laid Over by Committee" status since then.Dedicated ferry stop would be so clutch! https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...s-new-nyc-ferry-stops-at-citi-field-laguardia
