Stadium Discussion

That would absolutely destroy the field. No way.

Sorry, Brad Sims is having a hard time hearing you.

It sounds like UFL will be playing in the follow SSS this season:
Orlando FC
DC United
Dallas FC
(the old Crew Stadium)
Houston Dynamo
Louisville FC

(Mike Repole a co-owner of the St Louis battlehawk wants to see if he can play in St. Louis FC stadium).

its fine now. but come schedule change and all those fields are beaten up then it we'll have to see how they still agree to this.

i still hope nycfc doesnt do it. go thru all that just to have a field that is beaten up.

And a field that is beaten up when we're in the playoffs. March-June in the current schedule is one thing; March-June in the new schedule with playoffs around that time would be a nightmare.

MLS/ CCL or US open CUP/ Playoffs. and some stadiums might host Gold cup too? or friendlies in fifa weeks.

The question is whether big european teams will choose to play in the larger capacity, converted baseball stadiums in the future when they have a brand new SSS they can play in, but limit their ticket selling potential?
I think we'll see next tier teams with sizeable US based fan bases, but not mega club status. Teams like Celtic, Newcastle, and big clubs from Portugal, Turkey etc. probably plenty of Mexican and South American clubs as well, outside of Chivas.

Leeds v Sutherland at RBA will probably move to Etihad Park for sure. Agreed that Liverpool and Man City will keep going to NFL stadiums, but we'll get those second-tier games.

Also for anyone interested in this Liverpool game -- anyone who plays in the World Cup will likely not be playing in this game so price your interest accordingly, because we all know ticket prices won't reflect that fact.

In case anyone wants to do the same, I just sent a short note to my ticket rep asking her to pass along my thanks for bringing back Blitzkrieg Bop.

Those folks probably get lots of complaints and very little thanks. It is also good reinforcement to the decision makers not to second guess the decision.

The brick is a lie.

Also they never said brick.

Either mgarbowski is going to laugh at all of us when we learn there are no bricks, only engraving somewhere (I hope mine is the toilet seat, so it leaves a imprint on all who use it). Or the FO will now have to give us bricks just because we've been going on about them for so many years that it's become a thing.

Keep your stinking brick. I want my f#cking name engraved in this f#cking wall. like you f#cking promised.

No bricks.
Etched in stone.

Someone needs to tell Brad that they never actually promised a brick….

Yeah. Have to edit my signature. They finally promised a brick. Y’all spoke it into existence.

I'll always be an etched in stone kind of guy.

It's so cute how [Sims is] trying to do something really nice while feeling constrained by the promise of a brick, and he explains why bricks might not be so great, and he's right, and he even mentions etching names in a wall as an option, but Brad, baby, it literally was never a freaking brick and names were to be etched in stone!

"The opportunity to have your name etched in stone and on display at our future soccer-specific stadium."

Etch the founders names in a stone slab on a freaking wall and be done with it. Then, genius, offer to sell personalized memorial bricks as keepsakes with a little stand and an acrylic shell.

I'm trying to stay in at least until I get my Garbowski Brick™ at the new stadium.

It's lonely being right when everyone wants you to be wrong.
