Union Postmatch

Absolutely. Chanot and Callens is likely the best CB pairing in the MLS right now.

All I can do is pray to the omnipotent being in the sky and/or earth that neither get injured this season... otherwise we have a continental shelf in quality.

I think Brillant is ok, despite his gaffe last week. I disagree with Vieira that he can handle RCB in a 3-man backline though, or RB. He's an aerial and clearance guy, meh with the foot.

I'm gonna need to add 2 lines this year:
1) Pace for 1st Place in Eastern Conference
2) Pace for Supporters' Shield

The SS pace could be nuts this year. Some weak teams in the West, and Portland and Dallas are looking every bit as advertised in preseason. Could need 65+ for SS this year.

1) Callens is a monster. Just unbelievably good and then when he wins the ball he puts it on a teammates foot every time. No disrespect to Chanot, but I am loving Callens game.

2) We can win when Pirlo has a bad game. I don't think that was true before.

3) One handball in the box for each side not called. Fair enough.

4) The Obvious. David Adonai Villa. 6' 4" Blake actually got back and covered that shot but Villa placed it perfectly. Unfuckingbelievable.

5) Drinking hard cider instead of beer at the Biergarten during Passover is kinda strange.

I have less confidence in Brillant than you but I hope he proves me wrong as the likelihood of going the entire season without an injury to Chanot or Callens is very low.

Small sample size obviously, but I liked what Herrera brought at the end. Gave up a foul, but it seems like he generally controls everything within a 20 yard radius. He doesn't just run at a guy and get beat on a pass, but instead has his head on a swivel, cutting off passing lanes to guys behind him while applying pressure. Also looks like it's pretty hard to take the ball off him.

Honest question: are you Jewish? Because I have spent seder in Israel (and other places; my first name is Josué because of a very close family friend who is one of the best humans to ever walk the earth) with Jewish friends and cider was always considered chametz.

If it is now acceptable I am going to be all over that this weekend. :)

He reminds me of Pogba with how he can muscle through tackles with the ball still in front of him

It's weird I thought we were somewhat frustrating/bad for large stretches of the first half yet in the end I think 2-0 flatters Philly. Still some stuff to be worked on with the passing out of the back and our finishing. Passed up some easy chances to make it 2-0 and kill the game off earlier. Maybe we were just fluffing those mundane opportunities to set the stage for finally killing it off with the ridiculously sublime ? :D Would kind of like to hear Ray Hudson's call on that one. I certainty don't have the words to describe. Damn we're lucky to be able to watch Villa week in and week out aren't we ?
