Mikkel "Mix" Diskerud [Midfielder]

We could just do a whole classic movie tie-in on the Mix Saga...

What he was hoping for:

What he actually got:

Once he gets a little game time, dude is an autostart in practically any other midfield in the league. Oddly, he couldn't get on the bench for the team with the worst midfield in the league. All of these things are not un-correlated.

With his Mickey/Pluto post, the Disneyland reference was perhaps the easter egg, and while the Galaxy was always the obvious possibility, what if he's going to LAFC??? For the next year he's loaned out to stay in game shape.

When will the expansion teams learn? You sign up for a mix master on your registry, not a mix diskerud. And talk about re-gifting...

Don't know the particulars but sounds like the club is doweling out some payback? Since Mix was not friendly with renegotiating his contract and stood by it by the letter of the law, the club is doing the same? Can't see why they could not put him on waiver if they wanted.
I think you're misunderstanding. It appears that the club and MLS are standing by their word to him that they wouldn't trade him, regardless of whether it was an actual term of the contract (I bet it is, but who's say for sure).

Sounds like a class move by them if I'm interpreting it correctly. At least the club got one part of this right. (bout damn time)

Hard to interpret, but I thought that he was being cute by referencing the NTC as a "commitment". If it's a non-contractual sign of good faith, that's nice to see given the lead up.

Right. I realized after reading your comment that mine needed context.

In any event, yes, I was being a bit cute, too, in calling it classy to abide by the agreed terms. You know, and not try to violate the 13th Amendment

Eh, I read it either way. And either way, it could be class or a stiff depending on what Mix's true future intentions are. Too soon to know.

Part of me feels like he's being a dick, then again, maybe he got a raw deal and I should applaud his righteousness. Either way, the only thing I care about now is if this impacts our roster to pay Maxi a different way and bring in a summer DP...or has that ship sailed.

This will have no bearing based on what we know. If that was the plan, this cannot impact it at all by the letter of the rules. It's just tying up a loose end.
