NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

No, that is not correct. I've been posting for a long time that White has been getting forward a minimum 3x a game - he picks and chooses as opposed to Mata that can't say no to bombing forward.

I'd say he and Sweat get forward about the same amount the last two games.

I don't k ow if we're talking about the same thing? I'm arguing that he rarely went forward when Mata was on the other side of the field. With Mata off the pitch, he seems to go forward more often.

One of my favorite players to watch.

If we want a Vidal, whom we all know we have no realistic chance, why didn't we try to get schwini who had a whole season off? The two are similar enough except one is at peak one past peak (but we can get if we tried hard)

He is the most Vidalish player we can get for a non-Vidal, to put it that way.
EH, Vidal I think is in a class of his own. Schweini was more of just an attacking mid (early career) who then became a defensive mid later on. Never was a box to box type, just a defensive midfielder who had an offensive ability due to early career and talent. His soccer brain is amazing, but especially at this age he isn't going to be going box to box.
Vidal is a box to box machine, roaming around causing chaos and making tackles wherever needed. Closest person I've seen to Vidal, in a few instances, would be our own Herrera. Maybe I need to do more scouting, but I don't think I've seen a player with the work rate like Vidal.
Speaking of, anyone know of any younger players similar to Vidal's energy/skill/engine coming up?

He's only 19 so it's hard to project his ceiling at this point but there's this guy named Yangel Herrera from Venezuela that seems to fit the mold. Not sure if we can get our hands on him though.

RTWT?

You might not be, but Man City definitely is after he just led Venezuela to a 2-0 victory over Germany and was by far the best player on the field.

Dominating in the U20 World Cup doesn't "definitely" mean much. Otherwise Maxi Moralez would be playing for Man City and not us right now.

Don't know that Maxi has ever been the best player on the pitch in any match he's played

It's tough to be the best on the field when Aguero and DiMaria are your u20 teammates (among others). Argentina won the U20cup the year Maxi played in it (2007), so all of his teammates were exceptional.
