That's interesting. Are you applying any other filters? I just refreshed and am seeing quite a few options for 3 tickets, starting at the $20.

Funny, they just popped up on my search. Not sure why they showed up for you first. You'd think they would be seen at the same time.

Nevertheless, still looking for something around midfield.

Was curious what kind of crowd they got last year when they played the Cosmos so I google searched pictures of the game. This is right before kickoff... I would assume the crowd will only be slightly better then this on Wednesday which is disappointing because of a lack of atmosphere, but exciting at the same time because the away end will most definitely be heard throughout the arena.

T Tom in Fairfield CT how the hell are you getting there? I want to go, but am not taking a car, a train, a subway and a Path. Can you park now at RBA?
I'm not going, didn't work out with the normal family craziness. If I did, I would just resign myself to a long day on public transport. Although, as a dad, 1.5-2 hours each way on trains, by myself, sounds heavenly.

Updating my earlier post about player availability in light of recent news.

Probably Out
Camargo
, Matarrita, Wallace and Awuah have been called in for games on June 13 (day before this game), so they are almost certainly out.
Chanot and Herrera played games this prior weekend. Chanot sustained an injury of uncertain severity and is probably out. We understand Herrera will rest Wednesday night and maybe Saturday too.
Shelton remains injured. Pirlo is back practicing with the team and should be available.

Roster
This leaves us with the following players available, with international players in italics.

Striker: Villa, Okoli
Winger: Harrison, TMac, Lewis
Mids: Minimax, Ring, Pirlo, Lopez, Stertzer
FBs: Sweat, Allen, Gomez
CBs: Callens, Brillant, White
GKs: Johnson, Johansen, Rawls

That is 19 players, including 6 internationals. There are 3 goalkeepers. For our full 18, we need to drop 1 international. That means, among other things, that our 18 will either include all 3 goalkeepers or we will put an injured or tired field player in the 18.

So, pick your international who is going to sit. It isn't easy. It almost certainly won't be one of the CBs.

I was about to predict we'd start Pirlo in this one in order to get him back in game shape for MLS play, but knowing that we need to sit one international player, I couldn't find a better option that the Maestro. I am also predicting that Coach V will start Villa and plan to sub him early in the 2nd half.

I like this lineup, but I wonder if PV is going to fall into the same hole he had vs. RSL, where he starts Ugo to bring in Villa in the second half (after we give up our lead).

It really will be interesting to see the lineup that gets thrown out there.

IMO, the locks for starters tomorrow are Callens, Brillant, Allen, Johansen, Maxi, Harrison. Then the questions are:
  • Does PV start Okoli and keep Villa on the bench? That is honestly what I would go with as I think Okoli has some talent, and it would be good for him to get some more run out there. But I'm totally fine with Villa starting as well.
  • I'd love to have Jonathan Lewis start at LW. But, with Matarrita, Wallace, and Camargo on international duty, and Khiry still injured, we are thin at depth there. Therefore, I do think TMac will start at LW, and Lewis will be available off the bench to bring in some fresh legs there.
  • Fullback, I can see Sweat starting there, especially with Mata returning from injury, and depending on the Ticos game tonight, he may still be completely fresh for Saturday. However, I would also like to see some Gomez. The other interesting piece is if Gomez and Allen are the starters, who starts on what side?
  • Midfield, I think one of Lopez or Stertzer is run out there as a starter (actually needs to be with my current assumptions). With Pirlo returning from injury, this may be a decent opportunity to get him some PT. But I doubt he starts as he needs to regain some fitness, and with needing one international to sit, it very well be him.

I need to weigh my desire to avoid my family with the fact that I dislike other human beings. If there was a Mars mission, I would volunteer just for the solitude. I can't do public transport.
