Can we please beat Atlanta just so the MLS pundits can shut up?

i mean its only 6 games but i a for one am liking the lack of attention of our little run. Maybe because i never read/ listen/watch MLS pundits that i dont care what they say....as long as we keep winning, it matters little to me what MLS pundits say or they are in love with.

Idk what pundits aren't giving us recognition but every pundit I sees loves us and thinks we're the best team in MLS currently.

im just basing it off what i see on reddit really...i see lots of ATL articles posted ...some comments mention that MLS soccer site has like 4 ATL articles a day ( probably exaggerating but im sure there i some basis to it)

i think only Wiebe is the only one that seems like love us alot....even during pre season

EDIT: again, im not constantly looking for articles all the time to see what they think of us every week.

I don’t care what they say about us, I’m tired of the gushing over ATL.

Quite a few seem to think that Garza is overrated, but I feel that his absence will be a real blow to them, and gives room for Maxi and co. to roam quite freely.

There's no way that Barco is going to start, unless they want to take him out at halftime. Realistically, we have a great team to be able to hit Atlanta where they're weakest. With Ring and Herrera back together (hopefully), we have two guys who can break up play and pass better than any defensive midfield duo in the league. If ATL is looking to press Nagbe upfield, we can really exploit the gap he'll create, and with the way Maxi has been running the show, there's really no reason to think he won't try to counter immediately. The other great part is that Larentowicz is an ancient being that we can absolutely exploit.

It’s not worth mentioning because Sweat wouldn’t have done any better. So all things equal, give me Mata every time.
Then don’t mention it with Sweat since Mata wouldn’t have done any better. Works both ways otherwise it’s hypocritical.

From Doug Roberson at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: https://www.myajc.com/sports/who-will-atlanta-united-nycfc/LsRUpdCYcvmdeH7nPzLdkK/

Atlanta coming out in a 5-3-2, with Villabla out due to injury and Barco starting in his place. Garza comes back from injury and Gressel is playing at RWB.

Vieira will look to exploit that side all day. Tinnerholm and Medina doing overlapping turns with Robinson who's only had 1 MLS start on that side of the centerback trio.

Looking over the highlights from last season when we lost 3-1 to Atlanta some things to note...

- All of Atlanta's goals came from counterattacks. Both of Almiron's goals were from cutbacks without a defender marking him or tracking his run. The Villalba goal came from not enough pressure on the wing and Chanot having to quickly push out to defend him.
- Atlanta played a 4-2-3-1
- NYCFC played a 4-3-3 with Lopez in the midfield and White at RB. We will have upgrades in both of those spots this season with Herrera not suspended and Tinnerholm or SAS in the lineup.

Looking at my post above, Atlanta is being very defensive with three CBs but expect those outside backs to bomb up the field too. I don't think Garza and Gressel are known for their defensive talents. Larentowicz doesn't make the top 5 of CDMs in my book and there should be a hole for Moralez to exploit.
