Best home game ever. (Though to be fair, I missed the win vs Red Bulls.) I bet Villa is "playfully" mad as hell right now that Lampard got the team's first hat trick.
Why did Colorado look so bad? Is JJ that big of a difference maker for them? It looked like their plan was to mark Pirlo out of the game - and that was effective to a point as the backline struggled once again to connect with the midfield and forwards. But once they went down to ten that went out the window and Pirlo was free to spray passes to the forwards all day. So in the end it was unsurprising that we got three more in the second half. Harrison, Tmac, Iraola and or course Lampard were all great and even the back four had strong games although Hernandez's offensive efforts reminded me of Wingert at times. I was surprised by how happy I was to see Mendoza again, I love his energy and wish there was a place for him in the first team.
Strange to say this after scoring 5 goals on him but Tim Howard's athleticism as compared to Saunders really stands out in person. Guy is a beast.
