Best home game ever. (Though to be fair, I missed the win vs Red Bulls.) I bet Villa is "playfully" mad as hell right now that Lampard got the team's first hat trick.

Why did Colorado look so bad? Is JJ that big of a difference maker for them? It looked like their plan was to mark Pirlo out of the game - and that was effective to a point as the backline struggled once again to connect with the midfield and forwards. But once they went down to ten that went out the window and Pirlo was free to spray passes to the forwards all day. So in the end it was unsurprising that we got three more in the second half. Harrison, Tmac, Iraola and or course Lampard were all great and even the back four had strong games although Hernandez's offensive efforts reminded me of Wingert at times. I was surprised by how happy I was to see Mendoza again, I love his energy and wish there was a place for him in the first team.

Strange to say this after scoring 5 goals on him but Tim Howard's athleticism as compared to Saunders really stands out in person. Guy is a beast.

Should have had a yellow when he pushed TMac. That was definitely the Ref playing favorites for a DP.

Well. Crediting myself with saying no way we win this, so it's obviously a 3-0 in our favor.

What a great day. Sad for you folks that didn't show up.

Is the rumor true that you captained Lampard?
No . My NYC rosters guys are Villa, RJ, and Harrison, so Jack was the only benefit I gained from this. And really, 17 is a poor fantasy score for someone who had a hat trick. You get 5 per goal plus 2 for playing 60+ and he didn't earn anything above that. His Shots point was negated by his Yellow, and he got no attacking bonus and no defending bonus for doing all the things a mid should do (cue Tom in Fairfield CT ).

Knowing your deft fantasy skills I am taking your Villa reference as a scrivener's error.

Based off of how well Tony Taylor did today with as little match fitness as he had I really think that next year, when Lampard quits we could play Villa and Harrison on the wings as inside forwards, Taylor in the center as a defensive forward to hold up the ball and assist them and McNamara where Lampard is now. Then we could use our extra DP spot on a goalkeeper.

---Villa---Taylor---Harrison
---------McNamara-----------

No, what I meant by that is those are my 3 regular NYCFC roster guys. I swapped Villa for Keane this week and benched RJ.
I figured. Mine too. I did the same with Villa for Keane. Though left JH on the bench for Pontius which I deserved to suffer for. Sorry I am derailing the thread here.

I also swapped villa for Keane. Guess that's our league's move this week.

The SS sounded great even with the weather issues and the Come On New York chat at 5 minutes in (as planned) actually came close to a stadium wide chant.
Yes. SS was in fine form today, which really helped as the stadium looked empty. I'm sure many stayed away due to the roster and the weather, and many who were there were taking shelter. You could see exactly where the rain line was in each section by where people were sitting.

The supporters have been sounding great both this week and last week at RBA.

BXFSC were in fine voice in 234 as well. Envied their seat selection today!

Scoring five goals against Colorado is one of those wacky "MLS" scores that seem to happen 2-3x a year which nobody saw coming, such as dropping a five spot on the #1 MLS defense.

Some interesting tidbits about how out of whack this was:

-COL had let up the least amount of goals in MLS, even after getting torched for 5 they are still tied for fewest GA. Whoa.

-COL had never even trailed by more than 2 this year.

Shows how impressive this was, especially with half the team out.

No doubt, Saunders incompetence was highlighted. He's really, really, really bad. And I am not exaggerating. He's literally the worst keeper in the league by a long shot.

As for the rest of the team, what a fucking game. I love every one of you. It was beautiful. TMac was himself around the box.

BAJ was a badass. And mumsy was there to see it.

Taylor did a great job.

And FF was FF. How in the fuck does someone score statistically unlikely goals for 15 years? It's shocking, and I'm glad he's doing it for us these days. Fucker still should have been here before, but maybe he at least helped us ditch Kreis (see? I can be positive).

All around the most awesome time I've had at the stadium. Just fucking incredible.

And Chanot looks to be the real deal, but don't shit on Mena. Boy had some ballsy tackles in dangerous spots. He's clinical one on one.
