So very, very happy. Was so worried we wouldn't show up again. Glad I was wrong
Herrera is an absolute beast, and showed Adams isn't in his league. And I think Adams is going to be good. But he is also an asshole for that kick in the back.
Thought both CBs had great games. Callens and Chanot always seemed to be in passing or shooting lanes
Credit due to TMac, thought he played relatively well. Ended up winning a lot of second balls in midfield.
Happy for Sweat, but, yeah, still hate his defense.

And . . . everyone who said don't park at RBA was right. I should have listened. 50/50 on whether we can even back out of our parking spot before 4:00.

Seeing Yangel in person is completely different than on TV. He flat out imposed his will on that game.
I think Chanot played his best match in blue. He was EVERYWHERE and a big part of the reason that Callens also shined. He makes everyone around him better. Even sweat played decent.
I'm a little hammered but being surrounded by RB fans right behind their supporters made this even sweeter.
I didnt really understand the RB strategy. Arguably our weak links are Sweat and Allen. RB persisted on playing down the middle into an impenetrable wall of Chanot, Callens, Herrera, and Ring.
Jack took Lawrence's lunch money on multiple occasions.

Yangel for DP. He is that good and that worth it. Unfortunately I agree with you though.
Damn we're going to loose Herrera next year, I just hope CFG sends us someone else of his caliber to compensate 
Otherwise that was a pretty complete performance for a team that I'd still rank as our A- squad, even if NJRB add more talent over the summer with their stockpile of GAM and TAM I still think we'd wind up having the advantage in the future matchups.

What I found interesting being there too is that RB fans were more invested in being pissed at the refs rather than mad about the shit kick and chase game they played. I think more often than not when NYCFC sucks, we as fans can acknowledge they played poorly or need a strategy change.
RBNY has no idea how to score other than pressing and getting turnovers. It was comical watching them aimlessly pass the ball back and forth in midfield with no ideas.
PV played more long ball into the MF and they had no answer. Yangel and Ring bossed them.
In the last 10 minutes RBNJ gave up. It was a beat down. And this was without 2 DPs and Mata only playing 30 mins.

An absolutely overwhelming performance. NYCFC were on the driving seat throughout the game. Even the usual suspects did deliver... RJ Allen, McNamara and Sweat more than did their job. The way McNamara took his obligatory yellow in the dying minutes of the first half showed a complete team effort. Chapeau!
The best part is that you can win a game without Villa or Wallace. Harrison's finishing was with one word superb, and the slo-mo shows that even Sweat intended to score, not to cross. Herrera faded out somewhat after 60 minutes, but kept his ground well until that. The more Ring learns go know the game in the MLS, the less he needs to move around, his reading of the game is just second to none in this league atm. And the defense line worked fantastically well today. Chanot and Callens had much more coverage by Sweat and Allen than normally. And the couple of punches that Johnson needed to do were right on time.
How sweet is a derby victory!
