Pitch side seating and semi-related stuff

Also why the fuck would someone pay that much to not see the majority of the game.
The people that can afford the tickets aren't necessarily the avid soccer fan.... it's the man/woman that wants to brag about sitting next to the players.

Here's a good shot I have from my seat of how the benches were set up last season:Image.jpg

Here is how Ticketmaster Shows the new setup:

It looks like they will be moving the benches closer together to make room for the sideline seats. And below is shows where there will be 2 or 3 rows of grandstands.

I can only imagine what that will do to my view...

Maybe the picture is a bit distorted and things seem farther away than they really are, but I can't imagine being able to watch any of the game on the far side of the field - it just seems like the angle is too low and thus everything is appears really far away.

The landscape feature distorts it. I also don't sit in a corner. Here's what a regular shot looks like from my seat. Or at least what it used to look like :(

as far as them switching the benches that was something the team posted on twitter towards the end of last season...they wanted to put the home bench closer to the supporters section

I think they actually moved the bench due to my loud and non stop cursing of Kreis from section 104. I decided to switch to 128 this season for a new perspective and to see more of the team during pre game intro and anthem activities. Between the bench side switch and these new pitch side seats I am feeling pretty good about the decision to move.

I think my seats in the 3rd row on the 129/130 aisle have as good of a view as those on the field and are likely as close if not closer.

Doesn't seem your view will change too much. The seats will go at the far end of the field.

Except that it seems they are moving the benches closer together to make room for the grandstands. That will hurt my view of the pitch straight away. And I won't be able to see into either near corner anymore with the new grandstands going in.

If it does affect your view to any degree, I would definitely make some serious noise about it.

Yup. It's their right to do it. But I just wished they told me before I renewed. I would have moved seats if I knew.
Agreed. I would think that if you speak to the right person (which likely would not be your ticket rep), they would/should take some steps to ease your pain.

I wonder if Securitas still escorts you out for swearing when you pay $6,800 for your ticket
