Before they had a deal in Orangeburg, they had a deal in Flusning for a training facility that fell through.

They also offered $100 million for a plot of land somewhere. No clue where.

Flushing would have been interesting for the training facility.

Should have offered/raised to $110M or even $125M. For the amount of lost time playing in their own stadium, from a STH sales perspective, that extra money is an afterthought. It’s like with any construction in the city, owners/developers are willing to pay overtime (1.5-2.0x going rate depending on shift) for nights and weekend union labor because it finishes the project faster thus getting tenants in sooner/units sold faster/product selling on the showroom floor.

Would feel more NY to see the team at Roosevelt Field Mall rather than the Palisades tbh.

Just looking at the NYCFC 2018 home attendance figures.

Sunday 5 pm v LA Galaxy - 26,221

Saturday 3.30 pm v Orlando - 18,854

Wednesday 7.00 pm v RSL - 18,603

Sunday 6.30 pm v FC Dallas - 22,115

Saturday 1.00 pm v Colorado - 21,494

Saturday 7.30 pm v Orlando - 22,103

Saturday 12.30 pm v Atlanta - 25,268

Total Attendance = 154,658

2018 Average = 22,094

2017 Average = 22,321

2016 Average = 27,196

2015 Average = 29,016

I was originally thinking a 30,000 seater stadium for NYCFC (if it ever comes to fruition)

However 25,000 seats is looking more like the right amount.

At this rate, a few more years of no stadium news and you’ll be saying 15k.

I think the raw early season numbers are a little misleading because most of those games were freezing cold and it's kind of a miracle we got even 18,000 to show up. Atlanta was the first shirt sleeve weather match (finally!) and was also at a weirdly early time and we had over 25,000. I think that's much more typical than those early season ones.

Same day as Belmont too. You’d have to think that had even the smallest of effect on attendance.

Can we stop blaming attendances on kickoff being too early or too late? This happens every single game, without us ever saying what the optimum kickoff time would be. Every. Single. Game.

And of course our games are going to clash with something else on the weekends! This is New York City!

Attendance is what it is. I don't think it's influenced much by what's going on and around the city, sports & culture-wise. Looks like 22-23k is going to be our average 2 years in a row.

Crowd filled in nicely. I don't know what the supporters were waiting for. They were like 30 minutes late to the game. I like the thought of 27k expanded to 30k, especially in a prime location.

When info about the HRY came out and it looked like a 26k stadium was planned I think that's just about prefer like perfect. I want ticket demand to be high and availability to be scarce. Nothing like a packed stadium!

The D Train was fcked up yesterday. My wife left for the match after me and her train went out of service and the usual 40min ride took 1:20 and she arrrived at the 35min mark. She almost turned around and went home since the MTA was unreliable.

That was the perfect kickoff time to bring your family. 7 pm Saturday nights and 5 pm on a Sunday and 7:30 pm on a weekend blow. Speaking for myself and other Clark Griswolds
It's also the perfect time to get a real nice sunburn from standing in the supporters section. Damn forgetting sunscreen, but I do enjoy the earlier time to be able to do something after the game as well. Late Sunday matches are the worst things imaginable.

Make no mistake. Marty runs this team. Patricof is now in the Tim Pernetti role. And Reyna is still GM. They both answer to Marty. I assume PV answers to Reyna.
Notable that the goodbye Patrick Vieira press release does not have a Patricof quote or even mention him. "Edelman" appears 3 times.
