The kit bothered me. The Lampard situation made me leave. I was willing to support a club that wore Manchester City colors. I will not support a club that is an inferior minor league team to a club I bear no allegiance to. Maybe I was naive to think CFG cared about what was best for NYCFC...

I don't think the people on this side of the pond expected an identical kit to MCFC.

This is what really illustrates the problem.

At the end of the day, half the games will be at home. I don't think the first game location is a big deal for most of us.

Or we could have a Sky Blue-Navy-Orange combination kit that nobody in sports has. Have some imagination.

The funny thing is, if there was no precedent like Chivas or Red Bull to make us so wary of having a "plastic" identity, the jersey may also have been a non-issue.
