New Swag

You are asking a question that is answered by free trade and free movement of people.
I don't think this question is adequately answered by these ideas because of concepts of irrationality talked about in behavioral economics. Local isn't doing so well because of the concentration of wealth that happens due to the Matthew effect essentially.

I meant the question, "But if everybody settles for their local bagel how do bagels get better?"

Free trade and movement allows today's better distant bagels to become tomorrow's better local bagels.

Kind of like Wegman's coming to the NY area.

Yeah, kind of like how East Harlem is finally getting the best Mexican Food the free market is providing now that Taco Bell is here.

I know a law professor in Tennessee who likes to tell this story. A few years back he was at a mall food court. There was a nearby construction site and some Mexican guys who worked there were in line in front of him at the Taco Bell. He says to them, "I guess this isn't what you're used to," and they replied, "Oh no, this is exactly like the Taco Bells back home.”

I don’t understand. Are we getting new home and away this year? And FWIW o got a blank authentic from WSS last week for $50

Help me understand your point here.

And whatever the point is, could you have picked a worse example than something that implies there are no good Mexican places to eat IN SPANISH HARLEM?

Well yes and no.

We're getting a new secondary kit. The grey kit is being retired. But if we're getting as sleeve sponsor then the 2019/2020 primary kit will be changing since one MLS logo will be removed with the sleeve sponsor getting added.

I was just saying thanks to the free market we now have the BEST tacos, not that that there were no good ones. We just don’t have to rely on the locals. Yum! Brands from Louisville, KY takes care of business.
Not really trying to make a good point. I was just having fun thinking about better distant bagels and other food vs. local. When Taco Bell’s started popping up in the neighborhood it struck me as kind of funny and sad at the same time.

Almost close. Most, if not all, of the home jerseys have to be cleared out although nothing is changing design wise. League is going the EPL/LaLiga route with league patches it seems.

What do you mean by league patches? What is changing on the primary aside from the sleeve sponsor?

Reiterating my earlier question: we'll have a league patch on one side and a sponsor on the other side? And will the league patch will be the MLS 25 anniversary one? In the photos of the jersey I saw, either you couldn't see any patches from the angle, or the photos were with a jersey without patches.

What's the EDL - Estimated Date of Leak?
Won't all jerseys be released on or before 2/5? "On Feb. 5, adidas will unveil the league's complete collection of 2020 jerseys in advance of New York City's Fashion Week" Or am I misunderstanding your question?

This is awesome!

This also segues to my other thoughts about Fcking Etihad:
1. It’s been 5 years - time for a new look on our jerseys. They’re stagnate. Variety is what gets a new purchaser interested and a veteran fan to buy a new shirt.
2. Is the marketing effect that Etihad gets from being on the jersey really that significant, or effective at all - are they really gaining new passengers for an airline with very limited routes that they wouldn’t have already had?
3. Can’t etihad, as a money laundering sponsorship owned by the same entity, simply just funnel money to the club by being the official foreign air partner (in name only) for a club that doesn’t really travel internationally - see comment #2 of effectiveness of marketing for new customers (kinda a sham). Etihad can still write whatever size check they need to for their cash-flow shell game.
4. Etihad as a sponsor just kinda sucks - has no connection to NYC and the sponsorship space on the jersey is one of the only ways to let the club be semi-autonomous from the CFG virus.
5. Again, it’s been 5 years..... shirt sponsors just don’t stick around longer than that and this just feels so forced.
Agree with 2-4, also desire a change but some teams are fine with sponsors for a longer period of time. Bayern has had T-Home (T-Mobile) as a sponsor since 2002 and they've been fine. I'd enjoy it if Etihad moved to the sleeve to make room for a more local/better sponsor. Unfortunately, I think we are stuck with Etihad forever, or as long as we are under CFG.

Was asking/hoping/kidding about getting the leak pre official release. At this point though we are close enough so a leak doesn’t help much.
