Nycfc Social Club (for Supporters Who Don't Want To Be In "supporter Culture")

I am still unsure where I will be sitting but I can definitely see the appeal in having a dedicated SG area for fans who want to sit/bring guests/not get hammered and jump around. It would be ideal if the sections could be right next to each other. Make sure the board hears this!
Who said anything about not getting hammered? My problem is, it only takes about 6 beers these days.

You young bucks wait until you hit your mid 30s. Shit just doesn't work the same.

Haha, point taken. I was only speaking for myself. I am unsure if I want to get hammered for every game. I am still debating whether or not I want to sit and enjoy the quality of the game or if I want to be part of the fan experience.

Regardless of age (I am in my mid 20's) I see the benefit of a seated SG section.

We get our supporters shirts printed with antique subway cars on them

Maybe we could be the "Blue Pills" since we like to only stand up 2 or 3 times a week (this is tongue in cheek, I wouldn't point that out, but we did end up with 3rd Rail as a real name).

I think the ball was dropped with the name. I think a lot of people were mistaken with what the actual vote was about. Despite Zach and Brian being VERY CLEAR what the vote was on. As mentioned 1000x before, the vote was for the umbrella group. The Leadership of the group isn't necessarily the board members for "Umbrella Supporters Group" they are the leaders of the PAID group. However they took the liberty of setting the groundwork for a supporter-wide group. Which is why I pushed so damn hard for SCNY. How general of a name can you get - Supporters Club New York. It's general for a reason, so guys like us can be a part of the group without committing to the schtick.

Instead the majority (in my belief) erroneously voted for a name that doesn't really belong there. So now that THIRD RAIL has been voted as the umbrella group, what is the paid group going to call themselves?

LMAO...tell me about it....in my 20's, I could drink a bottle of Cuervo and be buzzed, now two beers and I'm good to go. lol

I love the name, and think it's perfect, but I know not everyone feels the same.

The good thing is so far a large majority of the active and vocal members, regardless of what sub-group they view themselves a part of have been very welcoming and inclusive, I don't think there will be much friction and I think it will be a cohesive and fun atmosphere at the stadium.

Once this has a little more organization, you guys should reach out to the front office. When seat selection starts it would be pretty simple for the ticket reps to suggest the section and idea to other like-minded folk who otherwise may not know/think to seek out something like this.

so now that we know the sections... where would you guys want to sit? I like 136-133 or 110-111
I'd say based off proximity to the SS, 234 is best. You avoid being consumed by a cacophony of cheers. You're also not forced to be covered by tifo in the event the SS decides to use any.

I'm with you all - Section 135 / 136 looks great to me and my girlfriend will be much happier if we have the option of sitting and taking in the experience rather than getting rowdy every single match.

Not that we won't jump in the fun when the time strikes. Bet this section of the crowd could come up with some witter tunes to sing throughout the match as well! ;)

Here's a link to a google form to help us get organized. If you're interested, please fill it out. Nothing here is binding in any way, nor is it a vote. When I created it, we had already discussed a few sections, so those are listed among the choices. Consider this an indication of interest.

NYCFC Social Information Survey

Once we can identify a few handfuls of people via the google form, we will move forward with additional organizational concerns such as getting a section on the board here and proceeding with seating decisions. Please know that I use organization loosely - this is just a platform for us all to connect.

Consider this a pick and choose element of the supporters group. I sure as hell won't be telling anyone what to wear, unless you're an asshole who shows up in soccer slides. In that case, I will feel obligated to point out that a grown ass man shouldn't wear those in public unless he's actually on the team about to play.
