2017 Yellow Card Accumulation (updated Oct 14)

So do we need to be worried about anything now?

Both Ring and Moralez are one Yellow Card away from suspension. So, a card against either Chicago or New England would suspend that player for the next game. A card in our last game against Columbus wouldn't matter as the playoffs start fresh with their own rules.

Everyone else is safe. Nobody else is within 2 Yellow Cards of a suspension and therefore could not be suspended even with a card in both of the next 2 games.

ETA: I've updated the first post again.

Have Dielna, Angoua, and Nguyen received yellow card reductions this year?

Nguyen only has 3. I checked the other two, and one had a reduction, and the other had already served a suspension, IIRC.
Where do you find the yellow card reduction info? I've just been checking the stats page to see the total number of yellows, but I don't think that reflects reductions.

Moralez's yellow cards aren't even good ones. At least Ring gets his money's worth

How does someone that's 5'3" get so many yellow cards? Honestly.

And I think Ring is targeted. A few of his yellow cards are for persistent infringement. But he just plays physical and not dirty or ugly. He can't help it if he's stronger or more physical than who is he going up against.

And I don't think we get enough yellow cards on our opposing teams. I think Montreal should have at least 1 or 2 clear yellow cards against them that weren't called.

I go to the player's page and see his game-by-game stats. It's pretty easy to spot when they've played in 5 matches without a card.

There is some truth in this, although I think some of Ring's have been pretty soft, including last night. I think technically it was for persistent infringement, but it was only his 3rd foul, and he hadn't committed one in like 20 minutes.

Does anyone think Ciman's foul on Wallace on our goal should have been carded?

I think I will switch this question to the game thread.

Yeah, I initially thought when we got Maxi that we would get a ton more calls due to his size. This may be a bad analogy, but in basketball you often see smaller players draw more fouls, whereas larger players are not. I figured it might be the case here, but instead I find that Maxi is often mauled and nothing called, and perhaps the ref is just thinking "its just because he's so tiny".

I kind of agree on Ring's yellows. I often feel like he usually ends up deserving them, but its just because he's physical. I haven't seen one play of his where I came away thinking it was dirty at all.

I'm not certain if it should have been carded. I thought so at first, and then ended up waffling on it later.

However, I do think there is something to refs not awarding yellows on fouls that he let play on and ended up resulting in goals. I know these particular scenarios don't happen all that often, but I have noticed this a few times.

The fact that Ring is one yellow card away from suspension practically guarantees that he's getting one tomorrow...most likely not deserved and almost definitely in the last five minutes of the game.

NYCFC just can't have nice things.

I know card totals start fresh for the playoffs, but are we sure suspensions don't carry? If someone picks up a yellow against Columbus are they in the clear?
