2019 Schedule Thread

Interesting, we're away at Minnesota again this season after having played them on the road in 2018.

Huh. That is weird. I didn't pick up on that -- good catch.

The league also confirmed the schedule matrix. Double round robin vs intra-conference teams (one home, one away), and one game against each team from the opposing conference.

Last year we played 7 Away against the West and only 5 at Home. This counterbalanced our East schedule, which had 2 extra home games because our extra games against Orlando and RB were both in the Bronx .
So, in 2019, against the West, we presumably play Away games against the 5 teams we hosted in 2018, and now for a more normal balance we need to play Away 2 years in a row against one of last year's Away game hosts. So Minnesota is probably one of the better options.

So we're no longer gonna have 3 against RB? Finally it's gonna be an even fixture, save open cup

Also, I like the date, but does anyone else notice that it's the same opening two weeks we had in 2017? And we keep opening against Orlando.

No rivalry week / play Jersey three times? That’s awesome. I always hated the extra game. Two regular season matchups is plenty for a natural rivalry, and hopefully adds a little more heat to the Open Cup.

getting real tired of these week 1 games vs orlando.

also we get to debut the stadium of another team while were still hopeless in our search....neat.

If NYCFC is opening the stadium in Minnesota than that means the only way to get tixs is going to be via the team which is not ideal. But if people do make it out there it appears that the Twins are hosting the Tigers. So if you miss that baseball stadium feel you can catch a ballgame on Sunday or Friday.

Definitely going with the traveling supporters for this one.

And there will certainly be a resale market though for seats throughout the stadium.

going to assume the away section will be real tiny since its their first ever MLS game there.

I'm was not excited at all when the announcement came out about the opening matches. I think Dome, and the lack of David Villa, is making me a jaded NYCFC fan.

Hopefully there are some offseason signings to change this mood.

Already giving 20% off home opener tickets.

LOL. I thought you were just making a very dry joke. Nope, they are already undercutting the fans who signed up to pay for a full season. What’s the point of season tickets again?
