2026 NYCFC Kit Thread

Jersey looks awesome in person. The blue looks great, and silver contrasts work well. The logo and adidas symbols have a cool holographic or iridescent thing which is fun. Bought some for the fam and plan to go back and grab one for me.

on first look, i didn't notice the stars on the badge, which is nice. i'll probably grab one when there's a really good sale.

The Grand Enshittification continues. Everything gets worse no matter how much we want it not to. Greed knows no bounds, especially when it comes to soccer in America.

Whatever this league can do to wrestle more money from their fans, they're going to do. Selling two kits at $200 each for every team is certainly A Choice.

they can sell whatever they want. doesn't mean people need to buy them. and if no one buys them, they will have to lower prices. i for one, only get jerseys once they've dropped to a more reasonable price.

i haven't looked much at other team's merch (i assume it's very similar) but the majority of our merch is just junk. poor designs, overpriced, and often not even good quality.

I bought an NYCFC hoodie once from Fanatics, it came in dark blue. I still wear it (even to games sometimes), but it's crazy how pisspoor their standards are.

I'd be surprised if the release of another kit really results in a material bump in merchandise sales. Sure, there will be some fans who will want to buy both, but that population is likely a very small amount. Now, perhaps there is another small bump in sales because there may be some fans who wouldn't have liked one kit enough to buy it, but likes the second kit enough to buy it, but again, not sure we're talking about a large number.

This is also how leagues around the world do it with two kits every year. I think I still like the one new kit each season, but it's not like the league is doing something unique here.
